Default Make Registration Mandatory

I would urge the admins of these forums to make registration mandatory for viewing these forums. Throughout the day, one can see a total of around 200 people (on average) logged on the forums but hardly 20-30 amongst them are members. Rest are all guests who continue viewing the forums and gaining knowledge without contributing to the site.

Registration is free and anyone who wants to view these forums must register. Registration also motivates one to post and share views and knowledge in contrast to browsing the forums as a guest. In short I would say that a guest is akin to a leecher. Taking everything but not contributing anything.

Everyone who browses these forums know that it is an indispensable resource so if made compulsory, a guest will definitely register (which is free and takes hardly 2 minutes) therefore there is no risk to the traffic on the forums. On the other hand, 200 logged on members would mean more posts and more information for everyone.

Therefore my recommendation is that

1)Make registration mandatory in order to view forums
2)In the 2nd phase, make 10, 20 or 50 posts(as the Admins deem necessary) compulsory before a member is allowed to view certain forums (e.g. optional subjects). A strict rule may be put in place that those posts must not be spam.

These steps would ensure provision of better quality material and information and an improved community

seems a nice idea

registration takes 2 mins only
but if it happens we need moderators 24/7 .so that accounts activate immediately and no one has to wait

If we follow your suggestions, the purpose behind running this forum will die.

Registration is free so I don't see what the problem is. Secondly if someone can not even fill a 2 min form (which you believe is analogous to a restriction) then how can you expect more information and knowledge to be imparted here? How will someone who does not even gives 2 mins of his to a forum he/she is leeching information and knowledge from give back to the community? Registration fulfills the exact purpose you listed and gives it an entirely new dimension. When more people register, they tend to participate more. sharing ideas, generating more traffic and sharing more knowledge.

Let me add here, and it is very important, that forums which rely on guests to generate traffic eventually die as there is little to none new activity (thread and posts) . The net is filled with such examples and if needed I can also share them here.

Anyways, I am done here. If you feel it isn't a good idea, feel free to close this thread

We didnt expect anything yet this forum is fully loaded with all kinds of information.

You cannot guarantee that after getting themselves registered, they will make contributions as well. More than a hundred individuals register daily but do they really share anything? Majority are newbies and join in to take, not to give. Only after having enough study and experience, they add what they gain.

I dont think we need to see the examples. We are satisfied the way we are. I second Bear here that Supermods and Admins are not too free to attend the forum 24/7 to moderate registered members every single moment.

We are not relying on anything. This forum was launched in the name of Allah when there was no resource for CSS aspirants and only Allah will keep it going on Inshallah.

whatever is the case dont worry the forums wont die in either case
we just suggested that we should build it as a free institute of knowledge

secondly,

cssforum.com.pk Estimated Worth $86797 USD by websiteoutlook

why are Indian ips allowed here? (3.3 percent is enough)
think we must block them for certain threads .
