There is strong resentment among National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials over recent appointments and recruitment of over 400 employees: a number of NAB officials have gone into litigation against their management. Over 80 NAB officials have filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the recruitment process under which recent appointments had been made by its chairman Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bukhari on contract basis, a NAB official said.

He said that petitioners had termed the recent appointments and recruitment process adopted for fresh appointments illegal. The recruitment process adopted for fresh appointment was expected to deprive a number of officials from their due promotions. According to the appointment criteria, the NAB can make 25 percent appointments from outside while 75 percent positions can only be filled through promotion of the existing staff, he said.

The NAB spokesperson maintained: "NAB has made all appointments according to rules and regulations." He said that under the NAB law the Chairman can appoint on contract basis. "The NAB Chairman can appoint experts, advisers on contract basis while for regular appointments, the Bureau has started a recruitment process to fill in more than 400 posts," he added. He said that when Bokhari took over as NAB chairman, the bureau was working with merely 28 percent of its sanctioned strength and immediate appointments were made on contract basis aimed to improve NAB performance.

Above mentioned news is not Business Recorder Website, here is the link for it

It should be noted that this is news article is dated August 9, 2012 when Psychological tests were taking place, if there were a stay order then why NAB conducted Interviews in October and November 2012?

There is a lot of confusion around guys. But as an employee of Establishment Division, I can confirm that a case was filed by NAB employees, since they also made Establishment Division a party to that. Unfortunately I don't know its present status, neither I could confirm about stay order. However the news we are hearing is the same that there is some stay involved in this case from a few persons within NAB. Off course this is not confirmed as the only thing that would confirm it is a written order of court but given the circumstances and constant delay, this is not at all a remote possibility.

November 21, 2012 was the last day of submission of applications for Trainers. After that they had to conduct interviews and final selection. Also, Nab has to arrange Training facility, messing facility and hostel for trainees. These tasks are very time consuming and requires approvals from higher management which is busy in current SC cases. And obviously they will never call trainees unless they have arranged trainers and facilities.

I am sure thats the only reason for this delay.

GOD KNOWS BETTER!

As per a source in an intelligence agency who has direct access to DG NAB Peshawar, the delay in the issuance of appointment letters is due to a stay order from Islamabad High Court sought by current NAB employees on account of their promotions. This is 100% authentic news. This news is also confirmed by a director of NAB who is stationed in NAB HQ Islamabad. The guys who pointed out the stay order as being the reason for delay in the recruitment process are absolutely right.
Personally, I have little idea of the detail about the nature and timings of the stay order (surely, you guys can't expect me, being a humble creature, to grill an intelligence official and a director in NAB too long about questions related to details of the stay order).

Lo ji stay order confirmed. I have seen it myself. Islamabad High Court has given the stay order on 31-07-2012 against the writ petition no 2535/2012 of Robina Farooq and 79 other employees of NAB.

Brother what is its current status because there are conflicting news from nab staff. Some are saying that they have withdrawn it aftr a compromise with department while the others negate this stance. Moreover nab has allocated a budget of 90 million for training. Situaion is getting complex day by day. Nab did similar thing in 2008 that after interviews they cancelled the recruitment. With many of people here in the final list stakes are high and same is the confusion. Should we file a counter petition in the court?
