There is a famous American phrase ‘Dog and Pony Show’. This process of hiring in NAB is literally characterized by ‘Dog and Pony Show’ in which NAB has been doing what can fittingly be called ‘much ado about nothing’. I say this because it advertised these positions in mid of November 2011 with deadline expiring in mid of December the same year. It took nearly 7 months to scrutinize and shortlist the candidates for written test in June 2012, then spent 2 more months on ‘much ado about nothing’ to be able to call the candidates for psychological test in August 2012. Up to this stage, NAB had assigned the responsibility of doing these tests to NTS. By the time it did interviews in October and November last year and till January this year when abhorrent stay was lifted, a horrifying period that threatened the passing of controversial NAC bill, the management of NAB showed a terrible flippancy in settling matters with its employees who are now preparing to flex their muscles with the chairman in SC.

It would have been fantastic, had NAB put its own house in order to strike a deal or take 80 officers into confidence for revoking their petition in IHC. No, it waited for over six months in midst of extreme uncertainty that made us have our heart in our mouth. Thanks God NAB survived so did our hiring. Now, as the time has passed and some guys have dug out the clues to vindicate the news of BHC stay, I presume it is a reality. I am deeply dismayed with this fly in the ointment that has regrettably spoilt our party.

In all these aforesaid developments we, the candidates, have been at the receiving end. Do you realize that we are the biggest stakeholders in this hiring? We have financially and emotionally invested ourselves besides huge amount of time in the (so far fruitless) pursuit. Having said this, I feel we act as spectators and allow the time to decide our fate. Some of our friends on this forum have come up with a weird idea of contacting the anchorpersons to highlight our case. Ask yourself; are these anchorpersons not anti-NAB. Watch TV or read a newspaper, you see anti-NAB news as headlines. In this scenario, appealing (I will never appeal) these anchorpersons will be like choosing cats to guard milk as this will give them a topic to make their news more spicy targeting NAB and the chairman. I do not know what other guys are doing here because they have been quite vocal in their points to contact media to resolve this issue, and I think media is really not an appropriate forum to raise our voice.

Now, who to approach is an important question, and I will address it later, I think it is more important to have a clear vision of what we want. Let me ask what do you want: result announcement or offer letter (that means job)? I do not know your answer, but honestly what I want all at this moment, I repeat at this moment, is the declaration of result. This will liberate me from long painful wait that has entrapped me at crossroads, and I will be free to consider other options in my professional and academic career. As long as selection is concerned, I care less because it is in Allah’s hand.

When I do not buy the idea of contacting media guys, I fully support the move to approach the CJs SC and BHC. We may write as many letters as we can to implore these courts to expedite the decision on this case in BHC. Someone opined that some members also personally go to the BHC on hearing date; this is also a decent idea. Majority of the candidates on this website are with pseudo names, and I bet most of us do not know each other. It is a great idea, as someone suggested, that we all share here our contact numbers and personal email address so that we contact each other in more concrete way if need arises. Someone may even make an skype ID and we all gather over there for conference calls too. Let us upgrade our network.

There should be a clear subject. Court must not get the impression of us as third party in case. They should get an impression of individual requests.
Did anyone find new petition number?

Brother, what I see is that the candidates lower at merit want declaration of result and candidates higher at merit want offer letters without any announcement to avoid further litigation. Opinions may differ on case to case basis and that is the point where conflict arises just like Mr.Naqvi said.....Naa khaidaa gay, naa khaidan dyaa gay. :-)

I have just dispatched four letters with different names through TCS. It cost me a fortune but we have to sacrifice our time, energy and money in order to get jobs from NAB. I appeal to all candidates to write letters to CJ SC and CJ BHC as many as possibe. The entire struggle has boiled down to how we convince these judges as to the injustice we have so far been subjected to. If you have to get something in this country, you will have to claw it back. God bless all of you.

Fellow aspirants,

I have been regularly following this thread since the first written test was conducted. Having qualified the written and psychological tests, I also interviewed at Karachi towards the end of last year.

The frustration and anxiety that each one of you must be going through is wholly justified. The process already has been a complete torment for its duration and uncertainty it has bred within us. Many of us have been unable to concentrate properly on our careers, procrastinating on the CSS preparations, basically been in a state of limbo.

I agree with the forum member that opine we shouldn't approach any TV anchorpersons; simply because they don't have our interest at heart as our case wouldn't bring them higher ratings. Additionally, if we pressurize NAB through that medium, it would only malign the image NAB has set for itself.

As far as writing to the concerned judges is concerned, I am not entirely sure that would bear any result either. Judiciary, as a body, must not listen to any one's appeal unless they enlist themselves as a party to the case. We should either be approached by NAB or the relevant courts, or should go there ourselves and register as a party to the case.

What astonishes me is the ease with which our courts issue these stay orders and the lack of accountability over these esteemed judges who wreak lives of individuals. What we need is a complete overhaul of this insidious process through which these persons are able to acquire stays on cases like this.

I have no knowledge of the legal processes but was just wondering if there is a way we can directly appeal against this stay in the Supreme Court of Pakistan? Instead of writing letters, which I believe are futile, why can't we all gather our forces and hire top notch lawyers and file our case in the highest of courts in our country?

I have also sent letters to the CJ SC and CJ BHC, though I also believe that this exercise might turn out to be a futile one... I think first thing we should do is connect in a better way ( forming a community on facebook ), so that we all know each other and also the number of members that would be in the community...

I live in Karachi... I dont know how many members from this forum are from Karachi... If we are atleast 50, we can do a quiet protest at the Karachi Press Club any day in the coming week... In this way we can convey our message to the CJ SC

I am from Gujranwala..... We should contact with each other who are in Punjab for arranging a protest in front of Lahore press club without any riot. I think this is the easiest way to convey our message and should take pragmatic step instead of showing our agony at this forum.
