@ Mari Latif, Usman Cheema, and hydkam.
Thanks for your responses guys, really appreciated. I had posted my detailed interview yesterday but since I was posting through my Cell phone, whose Qwerty Key Board is not much convenient for posting long entries, I thought why not post a day later with full emphasis. My Serial No. was 5. I, along with, serial Nos. 4 & 6 went in. We were seated outside the DG, CAA Camp Office, where the interviews were being held. It was 10:25 to be exact (According to my watch). So a couple of minutes later the first person among us was called in. He was an employee of CAA deputed at Islamabad Airport and while we were sitting at the lounge outside, many others were coming up to him and were offering their best wishes. So he went in, took not more than 5-7 minutes and returned. Next was my turn but instead of immediate entrances one had to wait for the BELL to be rung. So after another break of two minutes, the BELL RUNG and my heart pounded just for a while. I was prepared, following what happened to the people ahead of me, for spending not more than 10 minutes there. I entered, and found four people sitting there. Three active and one was just to put a grave impression on the candidates. Any extra presence inside an interview room puts some extra pressure on the candidate’s nerves; that’s for sure. I requested permission to enter the room and they offered me The Seat (the hot seat). I, for the ease of readers, shall nominate the interviewers the chairman of the interview panel as A, The Technical Person to his right as B and the person to A’s left as C. A: Mr., please explain yourself. This was the question I think all had prepared. I answered it with ease and informed them all about my Education, Profession and about my family. I also told them about my Father’s occupation on their inquiry. I took my full time describing myself. I told them about my appointment in ASF. They questioned about it too. A: You did BSc. and than altered your field to M.A. English. Why? I told him that how I did my Special Diploma in English Language from NUML, Islamabad and their I assessed that I was not good in science as much as I was in Arts and in English literature to be exact. After completion of my BSc., I asked my family about my decision to opt English Language and Literature as a subject for my Postgraduate degree, and they endorsed it with the condition that I had to prove that I was good at it and by the end of the day I’m here with 70% marks amidst the best three students of my batch. I also shared my opinion that it’s basically a dilemma for our nation that we all want our children to opt science in their majors, hence eradicating their unique inborn instincts. I also had the only option to opt science in my matriculation resulting to have the same subject till BSc. A: What are your hobbies? My interest is in Soccer, of course, and not as a player but as a referee. I told him that my father was also a player and later became a FIFA referee and now holds the Chairmanship of Islamabad Football Referees Association. And being inspired of him I started taking great interest in Soccer. A: What others things you do in your leisure? My answer was Internet surfing and most importantly writing blogs and on Defence forums and on CSS forum. A: What do you write and why do you write on Defence Forums. I told him that due to the present uprising of terrorism and situation in our neighborhood, (Afghanistan, India, Kashmir, situation etc.) it is imperative for a person to have some know-how regarding what’s going on around. It is important to know what internationally is the idea regarding Pakistan and what others think about Pakistan, I get better chance to see Pakistan from others perspective. I write as a step to portray the true picture of Pakistan and Pakistani forces in front of people worldwide. I think it’s my duty and of all those who use internet to put their effort to counter the propaganda of many hostiles regarding Pakistan and Pakistan armed forces. So after that he diverted me to B. B: So Mr. Can you tell me how the plane is flown? I mean does the pilot only rely on his vision or on his instruments? I told that it’s the both ways. I told him about VFR and IFR, Visual Flight Rules and Instrument Flight rules and also that, Instruments play a vital role in aviation these days. Vision however is also important as during the GO AROUND or landing a pilot has to keep the runway in his vision so vision is also something important to be relied on. B: If it is cloudy what do you think he will do? Due to visual constraints he will put his faith on Instruments more than his vision. For example Pilots use ILS system for landing purposes during difficult situations and even during normal runs. B: So do you know about ILS? Yes sir its instrumental landing system. It helps the pilot a great way to land the plane safely. B: On which approach ILS is used? On final approach, of course. B: If you are in Peshawar, on which direction would be Islamabad? South East (I think its wrong). B: To which direction is Riyadh from Islamabad? Towards South-West. Now was the turn of C. C: Which is the busiest Airport of the world? Heathrow Airport, England. (I think its wrong too) C: If you are in Heathrow Airport, in which city you would be? London. C: Name the capital of Netherlands. Amsterdam A: Ok Gentleman, thank you very much. Thank you very much sir. It was nice meeting you. Allah Hafiz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There were also a few small questions and It took more than 15 minutes. @Usman Cheema Bro I have seen you and as you were there with Latif bhai so I thought you must be USMAN CHEEMA. @hydkam Sir, thanks for waiting for my post. Can you please inform us when shall be the final results be announced? Regards.

@ramshakhan
Your interview was a very good one and I think you have very bright chances of being selected. Be positive in your approach and trust on your abilities and God. It was nice to hear that you have won some kind of national event in table tennis. I really appreciate that. @courageneverdies Sir your interview was I think better than us because you possess a lot of knowledge about aviation already. Best of luck and I would requesty you to mention your contact info in your profile. @hydkam And same quetion to you bro please update us about the date of final selection.

@ramshakhan.
Best of luck to you sister. I also noticed one candidate who was the employee of CAA enjoying the same protocol, but I am much used to this stuff and my experience tells that in many cases such people can't get through. So don't be dishearted, Allah shall do the best in your favour. Best of Luckonce again. Quote:
About Heathrow Airport I was sure that its something important in Civil Aviation Industry but I confused it with Shah Khalid International Airport, Riyadh. I read somewhere that Heathrow Airport was the busiest Airport so I answered that. About profile info, I shall do that. Thanks for your reply bro. @hydkam Sir we're yearning to get a reply from your goodself. Please give us a good news. Regards.

@ Usman Cheema
The biggest one is now Dammam not Riyadh and Usman's answer was right because Heathrow is one of the busiest. @ Usman (courageneverdies) You are very knowledgeable and impressive person I suggest you to concentrate on CSS preparation bcoz if you opt for this job you will stuck for ten years at least, otherwise you will have to pay 5 lac to CAA, so bro it is just a suggestion to think well and consult others before giving your consent in reply of the offer letter. @ all of you as soon as i get any information regarding selection I'll definitely let you know through this forum. @ Mari bhai Interviews will end till 10th as far as I know, even Lahoris are called on 6th August.

I really appreciate your honest thoughts and concern about me, really esteemed. I have availed my first chance of three of CSS this year i.e. CE 2010. I'm result awaiting let's see what becomes, and hope for the best. But as you must have heard about DREAM JOB, Air Force and flying was my passion once, but the Air Force kicked me out from the initial recruitment stage saying you have knocking knees and you can't run well, ironically I was than A-Category Soccer player. So it’s a kind of job I would love to have. But CSS has its unique charm and is totally exclusive. I shall keep your recommendation and guidance with me, IF I get this job. By now no one knows what shall be the end. Thanks once again. Regards.

interviews for posts other than AATCO
i think that to date most the discussion has mostly been about the interview for only one of available position's i.e. AATCO (though i have not read all replies). has any one received call for or appeared in an interview for any other post as well? i mean there some positions offered in HR and finance as well.
where can i get information about other positions? Thanks and regards, Yasser |

Dear unfortunately here we are all concerned with ATCO job, I dont think anybody in this thread had applied for some other vaccany, is there anyone? I dont even know that whether interviews for other CAA vaccancies had also held or not! sorry bro try some other means. ------------ It's now confirmed that the whole recruitment process is gonna stop. A court has issued 'stay order' to CAA to stop the process until the decision of the petition filed by ATC employees of PG-06 stating 'the recruitment is against Government rules to fill up the vacancies from outside instead of promotion from within ATC staff and through departmental examination/assessment'
