what is the source regarding the news of 8 seats

any one knows what does it mean to be
"ON STANDBY"
one of my friend was informed that u r on STANDBY,.. u will be notified about ur result in next week,,

Stand by means if someone who is selected does not Join for some reason and his seat is vacant, then they call from the StandBy List.... There are at least 2, 3 people in standby for a given branch... There can be more candidates on standby if there are large number of seats for a branch

We are required to report on 15th may and in case we dont report or inform AHQ about reason for not reporting in 3 days, then the seat nomination will be cancelled... So those who are on standby can expect a call on or after 18th May I guess... But if someone informs AHQ in advance that He is not joining, then they might call a standby candidate before 18th May

but this will happen if same BRANCH candidates don't report,, (Right ?)
and just this is the benefit for STAND BY candidates or..they are on priority for the next course also?...means they don't have to go for any thing,,they would be called straight away ?

Ya, thats the only thing that they will be called if candidates from same branch don't report...

And there is NO advantage for next batch...

As is my case
I applied 1st time in 104 course, cleared everything, at CMB I was declared flat feet and declared Unfit. Then I made an appeal and in appeal medical board I was declared FIT. But in final merit name, My name wasnt there, so I was not selected. And date fot 105 course registration was also gone.

Then I applied in 106 course, cleared everything, and at last cleared CMB once again, and same thing happened. Not selected in final merit list...

Then I applied again in 107 course. Cleared everything, and in final interview, I discussed my last 2 attempts that I am recommended twice... And they highly appreciated my attempts and they showed that they want me to be selected this time, but itsall upto seats... At least they favoured me in interview I can feel that...
CMB was not taken this time as 106 CMB was still valid (1 year validity)...

And Alhamdulillah, I am selected this time, after being recommended 3 times .... Never lose hope, and ALLAH will give u success sooner or later inshaAllah... Determination is what required....
