Basic Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry, (SSC Level)

FPSC authorities have also mentioned that 'GENERAL ABILITIES TEST' will be conducted as per 'SSC LEVEL'.. So members please tell me that is it necessary to prepare the said section from GAT or any other book ... rather than preparing from our 10th class maths....!

Exactly. One cannot give the total potential outputs 6 months before the exams.

200 marks time 3hours

200 MCQS

English= 40
General Abilities= 40
General Knowledge(Everyday Science, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs) and Islamiat=120
total=200

How can we give answers to 120 mcqs of almost all the compulsory subjects 6 months prior to the general exam .

Q. Do we loose an attempt if unsuccessful to pass the screening test ?

The most Ridiculous thing to do, isn't it?
Those attempting 2nd or 3rd time have an overwhelming advantage as they have already gone through the subjects and just need to revise. The fresh candidates though, need to buck up and prepare all the Compulsory subjects, plus the Maths, in a couple of months.

But Maths? Seriously? What does Maths, Or Algebra for that matter, has to do with CSS? Why is it being Imposed on the poor Non-Science and All Arts souls? Last time I battled with Algebra was in FSC, and I don't have fond memories of that encounter.

Beware, The Maths portion is cleverly disguised as "General Abilities" (40 marks) to creep up on the unsuspecting victims and devour them before they could draw out their swords! All over before you know it!

Sigh!

But of course!

I turn up for the Exams, and for the first time in 60 odd years, they impose Maths.
I don't know if its bad luck or bad timing. Perhaps both!

FPSC has hit the panic button in haste after Faisalabad incident, I think.

However, Soldiers should always be ready for Battle. Shouldn't they?

Guys, work step by step for this Screening Test.

1. Contemplate 3 days without panicking & come out with a plan to tackle it.

2. If someone is not at home in maths, hire a teacher for 2 weeks; if unaffordable, request any friend to guide you.

3. FPSC is getting better & its' Standard is all set to meet international level after this initiative. (Acknowledge it wholeheartedly)

4. Remember-- Nothing is impossible to a willing Heart.

Best of luck!

This Move of FPSC is mainly aimed at knocking out very skillful players of the game before letting them play.

The step of FPSC is Confused, Chaotic, instigated by Faisalabad incident, biased, jeopardized and a stupid decision made in overwhelmingly hasty circumstances which holds no cogent and justifiable reason and the repercussions thereof are to again fall on the already suffering candidates.

How can this step of FPSC be justified when Result of CSS is only 6 to 8% already. They are looking for shortcuts only.

MCQs type tests can never serve to screen those candidates who are going to appear in a gigantic exam.

It seems as if the main purpose of the FPSC is to collect revenue in the form of examination fee only and nothing else.
