Dear Ali Malah,

I also intend to appear in the PCS exam 2013 for which I have opted optional subjects as follows:
1. Statistics
2. Ethics and Psychology
3.Sociology

In the first two subjects I believe that I have ample background knowledge however for Sociology I will start preparation from beginner level.

Now please help me out by evaluating these subjects and recommend me some books for last two subjects.

dear,in my opinion u should opt islamiyat instead of sociology as its a bit risky.it can be very scoring but on other hand it can prove lethal.

PCS Combine me answer sheet legal white paper hote hn, jese css me the ya lakerun wale?
for sindhi general study book of badar dhamra and mukhtiar mallah.for sindhi essay follow editorials of kawish and get main points of burning and major issues of pak and sindh as well.
preparation of eng essay should be same as we do for css.
i think we,ll be provided copies having lines.

HEEEEEELPPPPP Please!

I have not understood about gk paper yet. I am confused about gk, that what to read and what not to read!!!!!!!!! its really strange case for me. So please help me out in this regard, in gk paper only we are suppose to attempt mcqs or fill in the blacks akhrrrrrr whatttt? prna kya he? Please Please let me know this thing in a pretty detail. Thanking in advance......

last time gk paper was divided in two portions.1)descriptive,consisted two questions of 25 marks each_50 marks.2)mcqs part had 100 marks.
hope same pattern will remain this time too.however few blanks may be included to make it spicy.
gk carvan is a good book for gk preparation.

1. Sociology
2. English Literature Paper I
3. Indian History (History of Indo-Pak) Paper II

Dear syllabus is like history of urdu literature, its evolution during different periods and it might be broad, I do not have much information about it, so someone having related experience can guide you in better way.

For psychology and socioogy I'll recommend you same books as being used for css preparation.
Sociology by Horton and Haunt and sociology by A.Hameed taga
Psychology by Fieldman.

Yes it is the fact that IR syllabus is too long hence better to avoid it or prepare it comprehensively. Opt ismaliat along with islamic history and sociolgy as per my suggestion.
