Was reading this thread since the start of the HBL MTO process but did not bother to register, but since this thread has helped me in some way or the other so here I am returning the favor.
I got shortlisted for the last stage from Karachi. I am the only one among my 10+ friends who made it to the last round. I received SMS and email from them around 8 tonight, just like earlier stages but this time they have asked me to 1) Submit my cv online 2) Be in professional attire rather than smart casual 3) Bring educational documents and passport size photo The email message is the same as the one posted by some user above except that my panel interview/final assessment is at HBL plaza, Karachi on Thursday. Here's a review of my performance so far for those who are interested 1st round: It was conducted at HBL annexe. I am great at taking tests so I think I killed the test. My Maths and logic is awesome but English is average. My guess is that I scored around 25 questions which is above 70% so I am all clear. I was informed in the second round that the cut-off was set at 14 questions or 41%. 2nd round: Same place as before. This stage was outsourced to Narejo HR and it included three items. One was management aptitude test which went fine. The second activity was group based discussion. Unfortunately, our group discussion was dominated by too many aggressive personalities. There was a girl and 2 boys who kept on arguing and arguing as if their life was on stake. I am more of a calm and peaceful guy so I made my points across but did not participate as much as I should have. Third activity was to build a straw tower using straws and paper clips only. We could not build it either. Anyways, thanks to ALLAH almighty, I cleared the second stage and now hopefully will clear the last one as well on Thursday. INSHALLAH! For those who did not make it, please do not stop your pursuit. I have been doing job searching for the past 3 months and it has been brutal. My field/career choice is too narrow so it does not help either. Khuwar hogaya hoon interview de de ke. I just had 2 first round interviews today at 2 different banks. And one was only offering 20k for an Investment banking job. FML. Rant over! |

Quote:
Interviews were fine and very general in nature. The interviews were Panel interviews. There were four interviewers. One was HR head I believe. The other 3 were from different departments. One looked like a psychologist and did not utter a single word. He just observed my body language and my manner of speaking. The interview was about 10-15 minutes in length. Questions were related to my academics, my availability, what would I do if I were not placed in my preferred department etc. There were some behavioural questions as well like how do I resolve conflicts? what is my pet peeve in daily life? How do I ensure teamwork when I am in a leadership capacity? etc. Finally, they asked me if I had any questions for them. I was informed that HBL will select 60 people for its MTO program from all over Pakistan. There were 40 interviewees from Karachi (20 each on Thursday and Friday) and I believe the number of third round interviewees are same for Lahore and Islamabad as well. So based on this assumption, 40 people were selected from each city for the third/final round. This sums up to 120 for all 3 cities. Lucky 60 are going to make it so, on average, everyone has a 50% chance of making it past the final round and becoming the HBL MTO. |

Avoid regular use of "Netspeak" or other "cute" grammar or spelling (For example: writing "R U a woman?" instead of "Are You a woman?").
