the past papers will make a framework of the complete syllabus of any subject in your mind + they will also make you aware of different possibilities in which a single topic is asked, this will help you in studying and thinking over a single topic from different perspectives.

start from any of the 3 compulsory subjects EDS, Pak affairs or islamiat. then go for optionals. Leave Essay, Precis and current for now.

no outline before every question. i consider it tooooo formal and wastage of time. do make outline, not on paper, but in your mind, and start the answer. give special attention to the arrangement of your answer. follow "tree diagram" rule

My experience of islamiat:
at first i did not concentrate on the point that i have to attempt 5 questions. so keeping in mind that only 4 questions are to be done i started my paper. i wrote to the point, with minimum unnecessary details, quoted Ahadith, Quranic Verses (only english translation) and Allama Iqbal's poetry (in urdu). upto 3 questions it was going awesome, but when my 4th question was in the midway i remembered that there is 5th question to be attempted too. but as i was short of time, i started giving only the headings. so for remaining 1.5 question, i only gave headings. my 12 mcqs were correct, and the rest were just wild guesses.
i got 67 marks which are outstanding for what i did. but these marks are only due to the fact that i attempted my questions beautifully and arranged them symmetry-wise according to tree-diagram rule
