For Islamiat checkout Farkhanda Noor's books. she has written 2 books, 1 for A/O levels and another for competitive exams. get them both and study selectively, and during your studies also note down on separate paper various Ahadith and Verses quoted by Farkhanda in different topics. she has written quite lengthy stuff for each topic, so only read them and grasp the concept + memorize the Verses and Ahadith to fit them into different questions. Allama Iqbal has also written awesome poetry related to islam, so collect his miscellaneous stanzas etc and note them down. these thing are score-boosters. i had purchased his book "Kuliyaat-e-Iqbal" which contained his complete poetry and i noted down his many awesome bits
You can also study from any other good notes, because the main thing is just collecting more and more knowledge. this is a generalized paper.

For Public Ad:, there are some pre-defined topics, around 30 which you have to cover. i studied from Muhammad Asif Malik's book + for additional knowledge i used internet

For above both subjects, your approach should be analytic, because many a time questions are asked with respect to current situations. like in public ad:, we were asked drawbacks of Pakistani Bureaucracy.

Overall, both subjects are awesome and interesting. just you have to memorize stuff to quote in both the subjects. Ahadith etc in Islamiat, and Quotes and Definitions in Public Ad.

Sorry dear, i have no idea about UQAIPS' notes

My EDS notes were photocopied by many people in Lahore, and many from my academy and others out of academy photocopied them and took them to there home cities.. but i don't know anyone from Karachi. 2 people i know received them via TCS from Lahore to Hyderabad, but Karachi!! i don't know any
Official photocopier of THE COMPETITORS ACADEMY, Lahore, had a copy of my complete notes of EDS + ENGLISH PRECIS GRAMMAR SECTION, and he used to send them to different cities on demand. but now the academy has been closed.. how ironic!

I am really very Sorry Mr. Zokki, i did not know that you have posted this query, thanks to Gotam's caution that i saw your post

For current affairs you should read Jahangir World Times Monthly magazine regularly. Dawn's editorial is also good to read. then, in the end, just arranged latest current affairs notes written by any reputable academy. such notes are usually launched at the end of January or at the start of Feb. so, till then, read their older versions

For general knowledge, there is no better source than internet. here you can download as many books for gk as you want. i downloaded a bulk of them during my time

Economical survey is an awesome thing to go through, but it is not as useful now as it would be at the time of interview. but you may do it now if you have enough time.

Your optionals are awesome as they suit your background as well. best of luck

a composition (of Precis and composition subject) should be of around 280-300 words, comprising of 3,4 paragraphs. it's quite simple to tackle after writing a 2500 words essay, earlier same day (CSS exam day one)

I will surely check your composition, just post me its link.

take care

oh( that means I will have to work hard for EDS then , but because of
my medical background I was pretty much relaxed for biologic portion.
biologic portion is much more easy than non biologic one.

and sir one more thing, how one should deal with questions where they ask
us to "answer with argumentation"?
when they ask us to 'comment' we have to put forth our view on
that particular statement etc
thank you so much for solving our queries in detail.

No problem dear.

Don't be worried about whatever they say, comment, elaborate, explain, argue etc.

Just look at the question, and the way they ask it.
moreover, It also depends upon the nature of respective subject.

Just post me some example questions related to your query and i will explain it to you in a better way.

see,
check your question, your question is

How 'print media' is so important in Pakistani society after the development of "electronic media"? argue in detail

even if you cut the "argue in detail" and put in its place "comment" or "elaborate" or "explain" or just remove it altogether. the question will remain the same i.e

How 'print media' is so important in Pakistani society after the development of "electronic media"?

So, the question is itself of argument type no matter what you write in the end.

your answer will begin in a traditional way, i.e
Introduction first, then you would have to shape your answer according to the question asked, for that of course you would be presenting your arguments, because the question can't be answered in mathematical or scientific way but, by the use of reasoning.
The stronger your arguments, the better you would score.

So, whatever they say, comment, argue, explain etc, the question is explained by the question itself and not by the word.
most of the times they write "comment" after some quotation in a question. and likewise they use their other words. this is just a formality.

hahaha... you really think my english is good? lols
Well, i have 2 simple rules for english. Be simple and convey the idea.

And to tackle the precis paper effectively, you would have to rely mostly on the process called OSMOSIS
You know whats osmosis?

even your this question is same as the previous one.
again, the question itself is argumentative.. so, don't pay much heed to "discuss with arguments"

Mostly, they say "argue" when you have to prove something, or to compare one thing with another etc. these type of questions need reasoning and arguments.
and they say you "comment" when you just have to endorse someone else's idea with the help of your knowledge regarding that respective thing.

Got it?
