plz do tell which one is better in your opinion with regard to promotions, perks and authoriy, PAAS or MLCG.??
Promotion: PAAS is better in terms of promotions, infact it is the second bet group having rapid promotions after DMG. In terms of promotions even PSP and FSP are lower than PAAS. The promotions in MLCG are very low.

Perks: MLCG is considered to be the DMG of cantonments. So definitely here are more perks and privileges, same like DMG. Whereas in PAAS does not have many perks, though you get an official car in grade 18 but dont expect in 17.

Authority: Both have authority in their respective fields. PAAS has authority over government departments due to "audit" whereas MLCG has authority over the cantonment area.

Overall, people keep PAAS above MLCG.

thanks si, good comparision. it would be benefical for candidates who are perplexed while giving preferances in css. preferances in css are a dificult job as candidates do not know the servive structure of the groups that threy are joining. comparison between other groups will also be appreciated like between PAAS and IRS.

The choices are personal preferences. The likings and dislikings of an individual varies from other. Being neutral, in my point of view the comparison can be as follow;

PAAS vs IRS

* Promotions: PAAS has very good reputation in terms of promotion. As I said earlier, it is the second best group where promotions are concerned. However promotions in IRS are not so bad but it does take time for IRS. Recently the government has created about 50 IRS seats of grade 21 but there is only 1 or 2 grade 22 seats for IRS.

* Salary: A PAAS officer gets the normal salary of his grade however IRS officer gets double salary, which can even be triple if FBR achieves its target of revenue collection. This is where IRS outshines all other groups.

* Perks: Grade 17 PAAS officer does not get any official car or residence whereas same goes true for IRS officers posted in big cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. However IRS officers posted in smaller Tax offices (smaller cities) they do get official car and residence even on the day of reporting (but in smaller stations like Gujranwala, Sargodha etc). In grade 17 of both services one can not get any official "Naukar chakar". As IRS is the backbone for revenue generation, I think the perks and privileges may be enhanced for this group.

* Authority in society: PAAS officers have strong interaction with government officers/departments due to audit and do enjoy a level of authority. However IRS officers enjoy the same they have to deal with Income tax, Sales tax and Excise Duties. But their area of influence are different.

* Exposure & interaction: PAAS officers have interaction with government officials however IRS have interaction with top class business men, government and non government salaries people, interaction with police for enforcement purposes.

* Educational opportunities IRS get scholarships easily after serving for some years. If someone wants to excel in his higher education, IRS is the place for him. Scholarships are also available for all other groups, however less than IRS.

* and any less attractive feature: Both groups have very positive factors listed above. However good always comes with bad. So, PAAS does not get official cars, residences easily; very tough work but with same salary as others.

IRS has the same problem: less chances of vehicle and residence in grade 17.

Overall, people consider IRS better than PAAS. It all depends on personal preferences however for me, IRS is 3rd choice (if I dont want to go abroad through FSP, otherwise 4th) whereas PAAS would be afterwards.

Default What are the requirements for resignation from previous job?

Salam,

Sirs/Madams

Sirs/Mdams can you please suggest me what to do for resignation from parent department,at present i am working as a Lecturer, and haven't applied for proper channel, because at the time of submission of form i was not the part of government service.

So, during my interview of psychology (psychological proforma) and final interview i have made it clear that i was appointed as a Lecturer on the 28th November 2011.

As 40th CTP will start in near-future as per above threads of seniors, so can you plz tell me what i have to do in this case?

what are the requirements for resignations?
Simply resign or apply for proper channel?
when i shall give advance notice for resignation?
is there any benefit in applying through proper channel?
is there any any benefit of service which i have done so far?

Thanks,

plz clarify if u have applied for interview through proper channel or not ( i.e by getting departmental permission certificate from education dept) .
if yes, than no need to resign u may get lien for 2 years ( it is extendable for 1 year) from education dept. in this way ur lecturership will be retaind ( than automaticaly expires )
if not, than simple regination ( while showing ur reasion ) will be required.
