Confusion
@MOHSIN
Thanks yara for correcting me. I am confused at 01 sentence i.e, the lake freezed rapidly. I think rapidly is used for running and for liquids. like horse was running rapidly. water rapidly flooded etc. It should be quickly for freezing? As ice melts quickly not rapidly. I may be wrong. Help me out.

Ramsha you are right The correct expression would be The lake froze quickly (where "froze" is an "unergative verb"... other examples of an unergative verb may be "melted" and "collapsed") So the expression "The candle melted quickly" and "The barn collapsed quickly" are also right To express the opposite of these sentences it's advised to use "halfway" (in the case of unergative verbs) i.e. The lake froze halfway, The candle melted halfway etc. Hope it helps, this is to the best of my knowledge still .... Angraizi is a strange language
