Civilized dissent is necessary for social progress
Introduction A civilized dissent characterizes a developed society Cultured dissent does not cause disintegration and social decline A. Civilized dissent, a key to social integration, cohesion and peace B. Agreeable disagreement characterizes great nations C. How civilized dissent ensures social progress? 1. Prohibits escalation of hate and violence 2. Keeps intact the feelings of harmony 3. Unites nations for social progress 4. Prevents wars and social disorder 5. Makes coexistence possible D. Civilized disagreements, a prerequisite for social progress Conclusion Introduction Disagreeing in an agreeable way manifests a society civilized in nature and peaceful in character. Living together of the people of different interests naturally results in conflicts but what ensures the smooth progress of the society is the gentle manner of the management of the conflict. The nations and individuals who excel in the art of managing their issues in a peaceful way lead their fellows to a social success. The cultured mannered of disagreeing integrates the people on social development agendas, no matter how many differences they have. Civilized societies freely express their differences but do not let them become strong enough to divide the society. Social cohesion in society and peace among nations depend on the civilized and peaceful manner of solving the disputes. |

Religion vs. secularism- what cures humanity.
Outline: Introduction: Despite the unignorable importance of physical needs, mankind’s solace lies only in the fulfilment of its spiritual needs. These spiritual needs can’t be satisfied by any worldly source but only by divinity. Problems of humanity today: • Extremism, human rights violations, civil wars, socioeconomic disparity, nuclear proliferation What is state religion Difference between state religion and theocracy Need of religion: • Spiritual needs of human beings • Guidelines for everyday life • Guidelines for scientific advancements • Guidelines for morality • Guidelines on freedoms Why states with religion fail: • Vested interests • Hard-liner clerics • Sectarianism • Extremism Problems with secular states • They are not really secular • Unfettered freedoms lead to issues like homosexuality and freedom of expression • Morals change according to national interest Conclusion Introduction: Despite the unignorable importance of physical needs, mankind’s solace lies only in the fulfilment of its spiritual needs. These spiritual needs can’t be satisfied by any worldly source but only by divinity. Today the humanity is plagued with issues ranging from blatant human rights violation to rise of extremism, from threat of nuclear proliferation to climate change and from civil wars to the lingering grievances of the global south. In such an abysmal state of affairs, the search for an elixir leads us to the dilemma of choosing between religion and secularism. Although theocracy is often mistaken for having a state religion but still religion is the more effective panacea. Because only religion is capable of answering all the difficult questions about this universe and man himself. Moreover, religion provides the guideline for daily life, science and morality. Without religion, human mind is led astray onto path of unfettered freedoms and pernicious liberties. The only reason for the failure of the states with a state religion is that the leaders hand over the state affairs to orthodox clerics. And then these clerics and leaders collude to abuse the power for their vested interests and give rise to evils like sectarianism and extremism. Further, the innate tendency of man to seek refuge in religion results in the so called secular states also being more favourable for one religion or the other. Also the morals of these states keep altering with the leaders, the ruling parties and the circumstances. Resultantly these states in the frenzy of achieving national interest inflict irremediable wounds on the soul of humanity. Hence it is clear that, as Iqbal said in his famous verse, if religion is separated from politics, the only result is barbarity. |

No snowflake in an Avalanche ever feels responsible
1. Thesis Statement 2. Introduction 3. Elucidation of this Philosophical thought cognitively; coined by Great French enlightenist: Voltaire 4. Retrospection of History; where this realm had been implemented. I. Fall of Empires: Roman, Abbasid and Ottoman. II. Colonization by Imperialist states; resulting mass havocs and massacres. III. French Revolution: From a peaceful demand of rights to bloodsheded Avalanche (Chaos). IV. Nazi’s Barbarism and Mussolini’s Fascism; who were responsible for that human catastrophe: either both nations or both Psychopath Duo (Hitler and Mussolini). 5. Contemporary Epitomes of this Philosophical notion. I. Middle East’s Arab Spring: Unleashed chaos and Destruction in the Region. II. Global warming: A monstrous threat unconsciously created by us. III. USA’s creation of Afghan Mujahedeen; an exiguous sparking ignites blaze of terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism. IV. Who is responsible for the creation of Frankenstein monster aka ISIS; no one feels responsible. V. Socio-political and economic catastrophe in African, Arab and South Asian World; Responsibility of UNO or G20s? VI. Conundrum of Syrian Avalanche: which include mass killing, human migration and destruction of a state. 6. Lethargy of our Society on the societal embarrassing issues, and growing societal lassitude at human’s rights violation. I. Rampant growing Women’s abuse: Rape, Honour Killing, Acid Attacks, gender discrimination and Sexual harassment. Role of Men? II. Extensive increase in Inter-faith and Inter-sect Intolerance, responsibility of State and Society? III. Religious Extremism, Fundamentalism; Role of Ulemas. IV. Apathetic attitude of masses in Sindh and Baluchistan towards their corrupt, impotent and inefficient government. V. Pakistan’s national mantra of Cross-roads from 67 years and cauldron of various crises; does anyone take responsibility? 7. Pragmatic way to stop the disastrous Avalanche from falling, and creating snowflake’s awareness of responsibility. I. Locke, Rousseau and Voltaire Philosophical anticipation to be cautious from this Avalanche. II. Curbing the causes which leads to Fall the Avalanche i.e. Human rights violation, Imperialism, hegemonic designs by states, Proxies and Societal issues. III. Responsibility of global forums: UNO, WTO, WHO, SAARC, SCO, CW, G20s. IV. Individual own moral responsibility; views of Kantian and Mills Ethics. V. Promotion of Peace, harmony, tolerance by states, scholars and religious lords. VI. Call for collective responsibility for spatial issues by UNO. 8. Critical Analysis If we leap into nimiety of historical events, there is a vivid visualization of certain destruction, change, dormant stability or a cauldron of crisis; assuredly, there would be an explicit abundance of reasons, causes and raison deter of aforementioned realms. Furthermore, there would be also embarkation of sensual, ethical or actual responsibility of these phenomena. Consequently, this will create some distinct responses; one would refuse to take this responsibility or other will ask for shared responsibility. Contrary to that, there will be some, who will be unaware of any created mesh, and eventually will say ‘I am not responsible for this Avalanche-typo challenge or menace’. Francois-Marie Arouet aka Voltaire, a renowned French thinker, enlightenist and propagator of Free speech during French enlightenment, anticipated this notion prudently during the worst humanitarian crisis in French tyrant monarchy. Predicting a havoc due to rising anguish attitude and furiousness of masses, Voltaire said ‘No snowflake in an Avalanche ever feels responsible’. Here Voltaire cautioned the authoritarians to fear from that incoming destructible phase; and warned that for this unleashed anguish no one will take responsibility. Retrospection of History gives vehement view of Voltaire’s philosophical anticipation. There were many glorious and stupendous empires, whose territorial range touched other continents. Additionally, their cultural, political and religious colours reached in every nook and corner of the world. However, when these empires lost moral, political and social support due to their imperialistic and oligarchic policies; their prestigious Olympus fallen destructively into deep history of lessons. Ironically these great empires were Roman, Abbasid and Ottoman. Moreover, colonizer and imperialist state showed same atrocities and monstrosities of masses in the African, Australian, North American and South-Asian countries; and they were unaware or being apathetic of what they had manifested: a bloody Avalanche. |
