Default 9th grader moves Supreme Court against internet porn

A fifteen-year-old schoolboy, after getting no reply from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Ministry of Information Technology, has requested the chief justice of Pakistan to take action to curb pornography on internet in Pakistan.

The youth, in his letter to the CJP, has termed internet pornography as the biggest disadvantage of technology, which was affecting the moral and ethical values of the people of Pakistan. The boy has also suggested to restrict media channels from promoting permissiveness.

Abdullah, a 9th grade student from Karachi, has called the chief justice as ‘uncle’ in his letter and requested him to direct the relevant authorities to block porn materials on the internet as it is being done in various Arab states.

“Internet has many advantages in itself but human beings have also added some disadvantages to it and the biggest disadvantage is “Pornography”. Uncle! it is destroying the moral values of our new generation. Due to this our youth is going far from their cultural values. It is our individual and collective responsibility to remove un-Islamic trends from our society. This is possible to block such content from internet. Firstly I contacted PTA to block such websites but they referred me to Ministry of IT. Then I contacted them but they gave me no response. Now uncle, seeing you as last hope I am contacting you to convince you to take notice of this issue and issue immediate order for blocking such websites because every passing time is adding sin in our nation’s register. Uncle don’t think of any other solution. We need to block these websites as is done in many Arab Countries”, the schoolboy’s letter to CJP says.

Regarding the media channels the young boy has written that “Uncle! The other issue is about media. Other than foreign channels working in Pakistan, many but almost all Pakistani channels also show some adult material in their shows. Even in news bulletins which are watched by the whole family. Many Indian songs, big boss, dancing competitions broadcasted in Pakistani channels are promoting permissiveness. Uncle, I request you to take immediate action on this issue. We have little time because we can’t bear any other disaster from Allah.”

9th grader moves Supreme Court against internet porn

This is a big social issue and mostly avoided to be discussed. Members are requested to share their views about this issue. When China a communist state - has tussle with Google over this issue then why not Pakistan should take steps to prevent such things being an Islamic State?

the kid has rightly spoken the words of everyone. Im strictly against these dramas that are called reality shows. they show nudity. dances and stuff are vulgar. If males are getting addicted to internet porn then, to be true, females of the family are getting addicted to these third rate reality and dance shows. ive always condemned the broadcasting of such shows and vulgar ads.

I hope some action is taken by CJ.

There are various checks and methods through which porn stuff could be ceased to be accessed.

some methods adopted by our university administration were .

1- utorrent blocked.
2- All prominent porn websites were blocked.
3- any websites which contain word "sex" were blocked.
4- Google could not search anything having word "sex"
5- All websites having word "tube" or "tubes" were blocked with the exception of youtube and few other.
6- limewire and limewire Pro were blocked.
7- All streaming videos websites with the exception of youtube were blocked.
8- there were regular check , and the university administration were constantly checking IP's of students and monitoring the traffic.

these were steps taken by university administration in war against Pornography .

and i would not mention the counter strategy by hostel fellows. at the end, students could access each and every website and none of administration strategy worked.

we should educate parents and Guardians about these unmoral practices , a step taken at local level could be more fruitful, Local internet services Provider should take the above mentioned steps and include them in there SOP (standard operating procedure).

The kid took the right step. We can block the porn sites if we want to..Iran now banned western cooking channels from broadcasting in their country..Moral values of our youth is on a nose dive..Although it is not the panacea for our moral decay but it can help a lot.

Its good to see that some of our youth have courage to highlight such issues on this level, we all know that these things are strictly prohibited in our religion but still we are doing this all and if we dont have restrictions on this we will be using this...anyhow we all should play part in stopping all kind of evil prevailing around us...definitely we cannot stop others but we restrain ourselves and people in our family from doing this...May Allah gives us courage to accept good as good and bad as bad....

Regarding video
Yes it is so embarrassing and when I was watching it, a thought came in my mind that such video(due to its language) shouldnt be shared here but when I watched it fully I realized and felt somewhere in me that its too shameful and embarrassing for us as Pakistani and as Muslim that how they laughed at us as they are succeeded in what they have been trying for decades, to keep us away from our culture and religion.

Still things are not that bad we can correct ourselves, we just need courage to do so, Just do it for your own sake,

May Allah bless us all.....!

Exactly , u r right. Last night i watched a Program "Desi Kurian " on ARY DIGITAL and i was like What the hell is this??? In this program the girls have to live in a village for 1 month and there they have to do different tasks. Can u imagine what were the task in previous episode. They were washing clothes in a canal wearing tea shirts and tight jeans and then they danced in front of men and women of the village . There language and actions were highly vulgar. I don't know what sort of Desi Kurian they were and what culture they were representing . I belong to village and i never saw such girls in my life even i spend my whole life in city but i never dared to wear such clothes and doing such things in my village. I really condemn such programs and it is the responsibility of big media outlets like GEO and ARY to discourage such programs which are distorting the real image of the rural culture. Coz of such ppl the gals like me , who have masters degree in mass communication and who want to do something good in this field are sitting in home coz for my parents this real "begharti" etc.

Default That video is misleading

For everyone who took the above video as true, should must not get depressed, we might be into these things but this is a total baseless stuff;

- These results are based on a thesis done by a student from a Scandinavian Country citing his own references since Google does not provide any such data to any one.

- The number of internet users in Pakistan is far less than most developed and developig countries like china, india, US, Russia, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Mexico etc.

- US Porn industry alone showed annual profits over $ 6 billion for last year, how could it make such large sum without US, European becoming their top buyers, we know how much they can earn from Pakistanis.

- Special absurd are charges like bestiality, just made to blacken our faces.

When this loose things was shared at large 3,4 years back, I and my friends did a great research and final found it totally absurd and baseless. I am, in no way, someone who always defends himself or Muslims being angels to commit any evil. I started this little research to understand why were our youth going this bad way but I unearthed baseless convictions.

@ bindas, I am a fellow of you from SEECS, NUST.
But boy, I can assure you that we can stop this porn from being viewed in Pakistan.
- Its so since my friend, Syed Kamran Haider ( The famous 'kami' at NUST, looking after corporate relations at varsity, batch: BEE-3, NUST) , had a meeting with Saudi Science Minister last year.
- The Saudi Minister was really worried for our youth accessing porn stuff on net and wanted us to make arrangements to make govt follow a policy of restricting such stuff on net.

- The Saudis have developed such methods for filtering unwanted stuff like the Chinese ( China filters any unwanted stuff esp. human rights related videos even on youtube and is very successful hence).

- The Saudi Minister offered complete help in implementing this system with success but it has to be our govt.'s policy to stop this explicit stuff, no one else has the jurisdiction to do so.

Regards,

This is embarrassing but:

میں نے مجنوں پہ لڑکپن میں اسد
سنگ اٹھایا تھا کہ سر یاد آیا

Pakistan is the top porn viewing country in the world. The reason behind this sexual frustration is restriction. Good if CJ imposes some restriction on porn site laikin bhookay ko khana khanay kay aadaab nahi sikhaye ja saktay.
