Why are we so eager to unite Muslims (which may be an impossible task)? People, regardless of their religion (even many Jews), from around the globe are condemning Israel's hostility. Why Palestinian issue needs the same-religion bias to provoke a serious response? Isn't the situation unjust enough to merit a response from other nations of the world?

What from I’ve just read a bit, it seems more than one solutions have been proposed and the so-called two-nation solution is favored by most of the people involved. But naturally, politics is a dirty game and just as the issue of Kashmir has been hanging on for more than 60 years, so is the case with Palestine. Negotiations inch forward but then an unpleasant incident occurs (which also flames our ummah-love for a few days) and everything is back to square one. Palestinians are in a wretched state and will accept any solution that affords them life with a little dignity, but the main opposition seems to come from the conservative factions in Israel (compare with the conservative factions in Indo-Pak who thrive on the issue of Kashmir). So while the solution seems to be there, the actual question is how to realize it. Of course that cannot be done through violence (our favorite method if we are in power) and negotiations have to proceed. May be the recent events will impress upon everyone the urgency of the matter but you never know. The whole thing can be pretty confusing. |

There's also one state solution supported by Reza Aslan, renowned author of No God But God. Two state or one state solution. Both are workable but Hamas's 'wiping Jews off the face of the Earth' is a big hindrance.
Al-Fatah is doing a great job but Hamas is what has given Palestinian freedom struggle a bad name.

Israel was founded on Zionist ideology and guess what the majority party in Palestine right now is Hamas, which follows a form of "Islamic Zionism". I can't see why would Israelis and Palestinians respect each other's rights in near future; 'aik myan main do talwarain nahi reh sakti'. All you need is to see this video to appreciate the shallowness of this idea. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=681382278619566 I agree many of the current miss-happenings in Palestine can be attributed to Hamas. But the increased popularity of Hamas is an indirect consequence of Israel's ever-increasing occupation of territory in West Bank. For me the two state-state solution is a prerequisite to peace in the region. |

Israel Palestine problem is linked with over all Middle East problem. Ad-hoc solutions like one-state two-state are castles built in the air and would not work. Solving one problem would simply create another . To be honest I don't even see anyone wanting to solve this problem as all are doing politics of interest and dealing with their own problems. This problem will vanish once the overall process of change in the Middle East finally takes a shape. Either a dominant Caliphate or a Democratized Middle East will be able to handle affairs with Israel .

Jewish Muslim distrust and aversion is not hundred or so years old; it dates back to Holy Prophet (SAW) times and it won't vanish that easy. Either highly faithful Muslims organized under a powerful modern Caliphate will over run Israel, or less faithful democratized Muslims dying for 'progress' will establish trade ties and shake hands with Israel . Since we don't yet know what will be the ultimate outcome of the Middle East crisis, Israel-Palestine and other Israel related conflicts and tensions will continue like presently .

Why we Pakistanis are so curious about anything happen in the world we are there to protest or to discuss so deeply. Everyday in Pakistan hundreds of people die but no one cares in the world not even Palestine or any other Arab country why? When ever everywhere in the world any Muslim country face any problem so they seek Pakistan's help but when we face any problem no one there to help us. Muslim unity is needed but look at that most of the middle eastern countries accepted Israel as a sovereign state its only Pakistan who is resisting against Israel. If all Muslim countries wants Pakistan's help in such issues so they should help Pakistan to be strengthen and given all possible resources for which it needs.

people around the globe have been condemning war by Israel in Palestine for, wait a second, a half century i guess and that has made the jews realize their mistake and they are receding now and we have long lasting peace. Hurrah! Quote:
Is Israel really interested in two countries? If it was then why the war in the first place? Is violence our favorite method or theirs? who began the problem in the first place and how did it begin? they are in power and they are using it and we are begging them to come to the dialogue table. Is Zionism a religious movement or a reasonable one? In some churches it is taught to christians that jews are your brothers and you got to help them in whatever way possible. but it is for us that being religious is a stigma. it isn't 'cool' anymore to be religious right? If something never happened in the past does it mean it will never happen in the future either? were Pakistan and Israel a result of a full dress rehearsal in the 10th century B.C.? Regards |
