discuss it concern person(supervisor) there in france.clearly tell him/her that you have 16 years of education.I had also mentioned this and they are willing to give me admission in MS.

Dr Naseem,

Brother, though I am from medical sciences field, I am basically a Pharmacist, having a PharmD degree. As for as ms in dermatology is concern, I do'nt know much about it. Because I have seen medical doctors doing FRCS or FCPS rather Ms or PhD in any particular subject. But thanks to azzee, he has posted a very useful link i-e campusfrance.org. It contains contact addresses for almost every discipline. Just enter your subject area there and a list of universities appears, each with complete contact information. Give it a try brother. Inshallah it will work for you. As for as acceptence letter is concered, I have not recieved such thing from anywhere but one or two positive replies only. Carefully read this all thread, especially azzee's posts, you will find very useful information in them. Best of Luck.

anyone having anu idea about the total scholarships, total number of candidates shortlisted ? I want to know that even if a supervisors acceptance is submitted to HEC, how much chances do we have for the final award, will there be any other merit criteria ? University rankings, academic record etc

Total number of candidates short listed is more than 600. Since the merit criteria is already very tough and not everyone is going to get acceptance so its my gutt feeling that all of those who come up with acceptance will be awarded the scholarship unless. And the interviews seem to be a formality.

This seems to be the case as the phase2batchIV website states as follows,

HEC scholarship will cover stipend, tuition fee and return ticket. Short listed candidates have to secure admission only in public sector universities of Germany.

I received this email from HEC today. Important points mentioned in the email are as follows,

We are pleased to inform that you have been shortlisted for the interview under the HEC project titled “Overseas Scholarship for MS/MPhil Leading to PhD in Selected Fields Phase-II” Batch-4 (Germany), subject to the following conditions:

1. You will have to provide the “Acceptance Letter” from a German Supervisor by maximum April 20, 2012. Only those candidates will be interviewed who will have a valid “Acceptance Letter” from a German supervisor. The ‘Acceptance Letter’ must be sent at ossphase2germany@hec.gov.pk.

2. Along with ‘Acceptance Letter’, you will also provide other documents (details will be conveyed later). In order to avoid any inconvenience, you are advised to get your final degrees along with transcripts from the concerned universities as provisional certificates will not be accepted


It is further informed that the interview schedule is still to be finalized; however, interviews are likely in early June-2012. The final interview schedule will be communicated to you once confirmed.

HEC partner agency in Germany, DAAD will soon conduct orientation sessions at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The schedule will be conveyed to you very soon. For ‘Orientation Sessions’ and ‘Interviews’, candidates will be called as per their domicile district.

i got the same email today and that made me think about asking the total no of shortlisted candidates vs scholarships available, another thing i wanted to ask, when you feed ur cnic number in the hec dynamic search, the serial number it displays, is it the same for every 1 ? i.e. S.no 1.

For batch4 i.e. current batch, I have somehow managed to get a list of 628 short listed candidates, which seems to be almost complete.

In batch3 of this scholarship scheme, total 608 candidates were short listed out of which 150 were for Germany. 60 candidates were selected for the scholarship for Germany. Dont know what happened to the rest.

I think at this time our prime concern should be to get acceptance, rather than wasting time on thinking about the policy of HEC for final award of the scholarship. Lets hope that If we are able to get acceptance of admission, we will be awarded the scholarship, InshaAllah.
