A friend of mine went to HEC on monday and was told that short-listing of candidates will be complete in this week and list will be displayed by the end of this week. So best of luck for everyone.

Azzee Bro,
did that info come from a reliable source ? if yes, then holy **** , o.k 10,000 applications is a substantial number but we get more than 15000 applications each year for medical college entrance test and the whole procedure including scrutiny, test, checking, re-checking, merit list to final admissions takes less than 45 days, how difficult is scrutinizing 10000 applications, 1 application taking 30 minutes means 1 person can scrutinize12 per day, now 10 people would 120. divide 10,000/120 = 84 days. and those timelines were absolutely generous. and then we will be told to finalise our admissions in 15 days, this is double standards at their absolute best.

dear bro -its a written reply(email) -you are right admission starts normally from Dec and lasts till March(most cases) -can't say exactly what is the policy of HEC(however it's better to obtain admission letter from 2-3 relevant universities) all the best..

lets hope so, and lets hope we are shortlisted, if Alllah has no other plans for me, i am qt confident given my score, we dont have very high scores in the medical field.
I hope all the frends here are shortlisted I.A, i just have a little apprehension, my country of choice was germany, and i am not sure if a direct admission into phd would be an easy task, proof of funding helps but still getting into phd in pakistan is so difficult, i can imagine hw difficult it would be to convince a german supervisor.

Direct admission in PhD in European universities is near to impossible without research paper. You must have research paper being published in any renowned journal.
