Is it our responsibility to have the Letter of Request signed by the university. I thought SKKU will reach itself after noticing this statement in the letter of consent;

''I have applied to Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea for the ♣2013 academic year and have agreed to allow Sungkyunkwan University to officially request my academic records from previously attended schools."

Please tell me if I am wrong so I can resend the request letter after verifying it from my university?

I applied without getting it signed from the university as it is not mentioned anywhere plus there is nothing mentioned on that page such as "Applicants should write on the lines marked by ♣ " .. so I suppose that it is to be filled up by SKKU admin.

u dont need to get it signed from ur uni. it will be skku who will be doin this

Today I got this reply from KOC university.


Unfortunately your name is not in the interview list of the Chemical and Biological Engineering program.

As of today we are completing the evaluation process.

We usually inform all the applicants whether their application is successfull or not by at most four weeks after the closing date (16th of June).

Dear Kamran,

The interview is the first part of the admission process and unfortunately it is not acceptable to get admission without the interview.

I will be informing you about the admission commitee’s final decision after asking them within this week. We will have Executive Committee meeting on 11th of July and after that time I’ll send an e-mail to you.

but why is it so? has anyone been called from koc for chemical engg list for interview?

Yeah its good for me. By the way how many acceptance letter you have brother. :P

I dont know. May be the caliber of the university is too high. One my colleague secured gold medal in his bachelor degree and unfortunately he was not called for interview yet. I have posted here but cant find any chemical engineer who has been selected for KOC university Interview.

strange bro.. i guess if one had contacted any professor then the case will be different.. then if they accept one in their research group, uni admission will must call one for interview..

I have contacted the professors their but no one replied except one. He was from biological side so refuses me to take in his research group. All other didn't respond me.

Dear All, I am not sure that whether you know this or not, but I will share it maybe it help someone.
Everywhere in admission the main problem is Funding, and you all have that with the blessing of Allah, so there is no such university(in HEC list) which reject your application.
When you send email to a Supervisor, you must mention this in the subject line i.e Fully Funded Scholar etc., plus in the body email you should say that you have funding for MS leading to PhD/PhD, and other details(but keep the email short).
Personally, I contacted two US professors from FSU and UNM, and they warmly told me that I can supervise you. Regarding METU, I contact one professor and told me that you fulfill other criteria and I will accept you. (This all because of funding)

If someone didn't get admission for the Fall, you may start contact with supervisors from now for Spring semester.
