why discussing islam here?
this is not about a religion....why discussing india here? this is not about a nation.. discuss the society here and blame the mentality not the nations or religions. people pointing out india for its increasing ratio about rapes, forget what is happening in pakistan. the same rapes the same other offences! we are discussing her because of the intense reaction of their people...aik zinda qaum ki nishani! and where we were when in the area of sadar lahore a 6 year old girl was raped and the upper and lower portion of whose were found in distinct areas of lahore? because no one of us paid any heed to it... and still we are doing the same to jiyoti...criticizng here.... why dont you realize that she was not muslim and not were the rapists! talk about the mentality here not about nation... as nation they are far better than we are!!! |

Grow up, guys. Rape has nothing to do with Beard or veil but mens rea. Had it been a just 'Pardha' issue, we would not have come to know 'Men to boys rape cases' in Indo-Pak or Muslim world.

this is a common problem of our society whenever we don't have logical thing to say we drag religion in that matter. For all those who are quoting Islam here , I challenge you to give me single Ayat or Hadith to prove that Islam permits to sexually abuse or rape the girl if she is not wearing Hijab. If you will not be able to provide anything then please stop puking your own illogical and irrational thoughts here.

Apart from the veil-beard dragging in this issue, it would be wise to consider that these incidents are not confined to any single nation as already stated by a worthy member here. What if such situation arises in Pakistan, of which precedents are present? What laws do we have to counter it? and even if we have some how much can they be implemented? I thoroughly agree with what Invincible said that these can only be countered by capital punishment either by following the Hudud Laws (in its true spirit) which is a better way, or by promulgating any other appropriate laws. The question would afterwards remain of their implementation. A big question mark. Regards

For General Understanding: Sub-section 4 of Section 10 of the Offence of Zina (Enforcement of Hudood) Ordinance 1979 reads as below:- (4) “When Zina-bil-Jabr liable to Tazir is committed by two or more persons in furtherance of common intention of all, each of such person shall be punished with death.” Before the promulgation of Zina Ordinance the punishment of rape was prescribed in Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code 1860 as follows: 376. “Punishment for rape. Whoever commits rape shall be punished with imprisonment for life or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine. ” Regards,

Its unfortunate that man still has beast like traits in modern era .. Its unfortunate that such incidents keep on happening .. There are laws: weak laws, almost perfect laws, these laws and those laws in almost every state developed or not, secular or not, and yet such incidents occur almost every where every now and then .. Some are highlighted and others' victims suffer in silence ..
Even if the culprits are dealt with strictly or even hanged, what will keep haunting memories of people is the agonzing brutality Jyoti had gone through .. What needs to be polished or changed is human mind .. Laws are there, human sanity has gone missing .. !!

This particular case does not only unveil the true face of Indian society which is man-dominated, it also shows the sick attitude of society towards women. Delhi is a city where a woman is raped every 18th hour. Not much different is the situation in Pakistan. The first reason behind these increasing incidents is the lack of moral education. And the most important factor that has accelerated these heinous acts is the lack of proper Justice System. Laws are there but due to incompetent judicial procedures criminals do not reach their fate.
But as a girl I want to request all girls, their parents, brothers, uncles and teachers; please prepare yourself and your daughters and sisters to fight, to be strong enough to defend and guard themselves. Make yourself and your daughters and sisters understand the true realities of this world. As is the custom of our society to keep girls innocent and naive, should be shun. Girls should be encouraged to speak, let it be termed as batamizi or whatever. Just crying after the incident has happened, does not suit sensible people. It should be stopped with an iron hand. |
