1-I've seen the model paper and it seems that of a level of 8th grader. It's nothing compared to GRE or GMAT or even IBA's own standard of apptitude test. Let alone LUMS...Now reading through posts of those who have taken the test in the past, and unfortunately where not able to make it, it appears taht the model paper fails to give a fair idea of what the test is acutaly going to be?

2-Previously IBP used to hold the test but SBP has sought NTS this time. In your opinion, why did SBP sought NTS instead of IBP this year? was it because IBP's testing system was primarily based on banking jargons? espcially questions in GK and Current Affairs?

3- I tried to find out the scoring scheme of NTS but i didn't find anythign useful on their website. Do they have this aspect called -ve marking?? if yes, what's that.I would love to go for flukes in GK and CA if there is no -ve marking.

4-what's the minimum passing % of SBP for each section? do candidates with high % get the preference?
well the model paper definitely seems to be very easy as i myself answered all the questions correctly, though i know the real paper wont be tht easy. The reason for changing the test conducting body might be tht in previous test mostly existing bankers would have qualified it coz of banking related questions but it was not a fair play graoud as the fresh graduates also apply for this post and they dont have such banking experience to attempt these questions. In NTS there is negative marking but i m not sure of how much marks are deducted on one wrong answer. And for your last question i m not sure, as to pass NTS u have to just take 50% marks in whole test, no single portion is treated individually to take a certain percentage in it, but this might not be in case of this test.

I wouldn’t second your opinion as I have always been in touch with NTS, Cleared GAT for two times consecutively. The tests are never different then the model paper as well as in the last attempt I noticed a few questions repeated; so start preparation in accordance to it.

Had you taken some pain to search it, you wouldn't have to ask the others.
Its on the same page where you entered your name to check if its shortlisted.

@waqar
well they have actually got one question wrong in the Quantitative section of the model paper

A contractor has to build a bridge in 50 days. Initially he employed 20 men, but found that only half of the work has been completed in 30 days. How many more men he has to employ to finish the job in time?

0.5/(20*30)=0.5(x*20) (assuming that all the men work at same rates)

the answer should be 30 but if you see the model paper the answer is marked 10

thanks Ammara and Lord for ur responses too

hiii...They are asking about additional men required to do the work. He has already 20 men and need 10 more to complete the job. the value x=30 u have calculated is representing the total number of men required whereas 10 are additional men required. which is the right answer.

Ammara
