yup this is exactly what i mean, there is nothing like luck and tukka in CSS..you can be lucky enough to get through in an essay paper by securing 40 marks as even a 1 mark short will seal your fate but you cannot come off with flying colors in all 12 papers and then viva and allocation, it is all ALLAH's blessing and your true potential..that's all.. May be the person you're talking about has faced hurdles in other field of life where he might have done hard work but rewarded in the way he succeeded in CSS. Have you not seen people who did hard work and not got the fruit ? But later on they are rewarded for that.

If I have to respond to your allegation against the fspc then it would be with a single word i.e MYTH!

They cant deduct your marks If you have written correctly and when I say correctly I mean correctly in the point of view of the examiner similarly they cant and wont award you marks that you don't deserve which is again subject to their assessment of your material.

We should not make such strong and baseless allegations against a reputed institution of Pakistan. Accepting our failures and blaming no one else BUT ourselves for our failures is the way to go!

This is the thing that comes under luck, matching of your and examiner's point of view . Surely FPSC has nothing to do with it.

It is highly unlikely that the examiner will do something unexpected to you.. If you have answered what was asked and produced quality material, you will be rewarded.

Maybe I am wrong but as long as I am concerned, I don't believe in luck.

Imagine an examiner is pro-establishment and you produced quality anti-establishment material in paper , or vice versa

haha, lol! I think it should be ok as long as we don't produce anti-state material.. Anti-gov material is mostly appreciated.. or so I heard.. but anti-state is not tolerated

well i believe that hard work first and then luck (pray to Allah) is needed to qualify css so both ratio have to be 50:50

Agree or not, element of luck does exist.

This year in CSS exam, i was so sure that current affairs question paper would mostly be about situation of Pakistan prevailing at that time ; Memogate, Salala attack, MFN etc, so much was happening! I had gone through content of only these events before exam day. But lady luck didn't favor me and the paper had every thing but these very topics.
For a moment i thought i had been given some old question paper, by mistake!
Then i hoped for these topics to appear in Pak affairs, but again i was struck with hard luck.
