triple salary is cal calculated as follows; suppose now a days Basic Salary of BPS-17 is around 17,000, therefore 17000 into 3 = 51000+ allowances calculated on the basis of 17000 roughly speaking the starting salary for a BPS-17 officer in a province in which the salary is tripple, would be around 70,000

PS: Sir Nadeem, Correct me if I am wrong

One thing should be very clear that PMS stands for Provincial Management Service and DMG is a federal service. As per Policy, there are 3 seats of BPS-21 for PCS/PMS officers (These include the officers who get promotion from Naib Tehsildar and Tehsildar) and How many seats are for DMG? In BPS-17, 80% of the seats are to be filled by PMS/PCS officers and 20% to DMG officers and as per provincial promotion/posting policy this ratio keeps increasing in favor of DMG officers when we move towards the higher grades like in BPS-21 PMS/PCS/Departmental Officers are left with just 3 seats....for the information of this very forum let me tell you that the PCS badge of 1998 have recently been promoted to BPS-18 and DMG officers of 1998 (26th CTP) are doing Senior Management Course (SMC) which is for to be promoted to BPS-20...One more thing How many years it takes a PCS/PMS officer to be promoted to BPS-18 and how many years does it take for a DMG officer to be promoted to BPS-18...1st PMS (2004) are not even close to be promoted to BPS-18 yet, it will take atleast 4,5 more years for them to be promoted to BPS-18 and on the other hand DMG (2004)(33rd CTP) would be going to attend Mid Career Management Course (MCMC) in March-2013 which is to be promoted to BPS-19 (31st CTP is going for MCMC in May 2012 and 32nd CTP in Oct 2012)

We guys are discussing about two services which has nothing common between them...One is a provincial service and other is the federal service....This is not the matter of competence, of course PMS exam is also very challenging, infact most of PMS officers would be equally good but the real difference is the service structure...One Service (PMS) started in 2004 and the other (DMG) has history of more than 100 years....It is NOT the officers who differ, these are the SERVICES which are VERY different in all aspects and no doubt DMG has much superior service structure than PMS

So when there is so much promotion wise difference that two officers starting service in PMS/DMG in same year have such a huge grade wise difference after 7,8 years of service then i do not think we should start comparing the services...officers from both services are equally competenet but unfortunately the service structure of the two services is very different....Infact PMS is NOT held every year whereas DMG's CSS exam is held every year

PS Promotions of PMS/PCS officers are against their Provincial seats and is done by the provinces, whereas DMG/PSP promotions are brokered by the Establishment Division in collaboration with the provincial Governments in which the officers are serving against the designated seats for Federal Officers...No Officer from one service is promoted against the seat of the other service and all promotions are made as per Provincial/Federal Promotion Policy

Nothing is mentioned to offend anyone, If anyone did feel so, I am sorry, it wasnt intentional

Red.Hawk...good! I can see the research undertaken by you...nice to see, and yes about your text...i'll be back by this evening so you can plan the visit for tomorrow...

@White Leapard

I think DMG can ONLY be compared with PSP...I dont get why people compare PMS with DMG..it is like to compare River with Occean..Have ever seen a DMG officer posted as Section Officer? How many PCS/PMS offucers have been Punjab's Chief Sectt,Home Sectt,Finance Sectt, Local Bodies Sectt, C& W Sectt,DG Anti Corruptiin?..The fellows with me who could not qualify CSS did take PCS and some of them joined PCS and all of them are in BPS-17 and I am going in BPS-19 within next few months (I qualified MCMC in May 2011) and my common fellows of DMG are already in BPS 19 almost a year back and ALL of them are either provincial Additional Secretaries OR federal Deputy Secretaries...Now by this we are comparing a BPS-17 officer with a BPS-19 officer, one (PCS/PMS) is working as Section Officer or Assistant Commissioner AND the other (DMG) are working as Additional Secretary or DCO, I have 2 DMG batch mates working as DCO in Punjab now a dqys and all others are Additional Sectt in Punjab including Home, S & GAD and Mines & Minerals

Then I do not get that why are the members over here compqring an SO and an Additional Secretary...an AC with a DCO...I think we should stop this discussion right here...the ONLY comparable discussion could be between PSP and DMG

@ Nadem

First of all thanks alot sir you are doing a commendable job.Sir i want to know what are the prospects of PSP for girls.is it suitable for girls? i have seen that many CSPs don't recommend PSP for girls.But again i have been advised by one of my relative who is in PSP to place it on 2nd or 3rd number in preference list.According to him PSP is good for girls also.I am too bit interested in it but yet confused.What is your opinion about it being in PSP yourself.

Regards.

@Nadem Sir

I have few quarries regarding a PMS Officer serving as SJM under High Court.

1- Is such officer entitled to "Judicial Allowance". If yes then what is the amount?

2-What kind of cases fall under the jurisdiction of such officer?

3-Whom does (s)he reports to? Senior Civil Judge or Session Judge?

4- Can such officer be repatriated by the provincial Govt with out consent of LHC?
