Life is uncertain anyone can ask you any-kind of question.

In many federal and provisional tests you will be be asked above question indirectly.

Like: Fill in the blanks, choose correct part of speech, change the voice, correct the sentence, direct in direct, uses of conditionals, choose the correct prepositions and so on.

For these simple things you need to know Grammar. If you speak fluently it doesn't mean you don't know what grammar is. Sometimes, we do not know what we know.

Miss Natasha do not argue without reason. You have been provided with ample reasons about the importance of grammar. neither we can ignore the grammar nor its implementation. Once again i affirm that Grammar, Reading, and writing has a reciprocal relationship and the dream of writing good English can not come true without either of them. If you want to take the CSS exams you have to excel you grammar because this is not a B.A or M.A exams wherein you can solve every composition paper without knowing the rules of grammar. Hope you will not try to prove your baseless argument anymore.

Natasha, everyone knows that grammar can not be crammed, but it does not mean that we should put it on the back burner. As you said, you have studied grammar in class 7th and not after, so my dear sis time has changed and there are three classes of grammar namely: Elementary that you might have studied, Intermediate, and finally advanced grammar in use. Do not be satisfied that your English is OK it can not be. you need to know each and every rule of grammar either by hook or by crook( by ratta or by practice, choice is yours); and one thing is Cristal clear that writing and reading is at the foot of grammar. and forget about that you can pass the Essay and Composition paper without knowing advanced grammar.

@ahmed faisal- you should learn to agree to disagree. as aforementioned i acknowledge the importance of grammar which is the core of every language but i stick to what i said earlier. you CANNOT memorize grammar at 22! Reading, reading and reading is my mantra to write well and without errors. i hope before learning grammar one thing you need to learn is the etiquette of talking to a lady. now please keep your urdu medium approach of learning English to yourself if you cant argue politely

with due respect your argument is quite implausible. i'm tired reiterating that grammar is the CORE of every language but you cant memorize it. please stop with this urdu medium approach to learn english. i am more than satisfied with my English as i got an A in O Level English, an A in A Level GP exam, the University of Cambridge examiners are a better judge of my English than you. i do not know advanced grammar in fact i do not know most rules of grammar yet my English is good and i passed my A Level GP exam with flying colours. Im curious to know what has time got to do with learning English, as you have written times have changed now??? To each their own

@All

Lets put a full stop to this exasperating argumentation..
No one denies the importance of grammar.. No one can deny it..
Also, no one should cram grammar at such a level.. In fact one cannot.. If one does, one can't handle it properly in composition or conversation.
Moreover, Reading, writing and listening are the skills to improve composition and conversation..
I hope all of you agree to it..

You all meant to say it.. As I was out of the conversation or argumentation, I was observing that you all were trying to say almost the same thing..

seher bano ["you need to know each and every rule of grammar either by hook or by crook( by ratta or by practice, choice is yours)"] and ahmed faisal ["If you want to take the CSS exams you have to excel you grammar because this is not a B.A or M.A exams wherein you can solve every composition paper without knowing the rules of grammar"] believe otherwise. they are so adamant to prove that they are right! it's a matter of personal opinion so they need to respect and accept other person's opinion.
