Rome was not built in a day.
There is no short cut in life. For every task to be accomplished, there is a need of uninterrupted and vigorous efforts to be made. Rome, which is symbol of development and civilization, did not pan out to be what it is today in a blink of eye. It was a long journey of change from an impoverished place to its current position of civility in the modern world. Prophet Muhammad made strenuous efforts to enlighten the benighted hearts of Meccans for around 13 years but in turn while attempting to assassinate him, they forced him to migrate from his beloved homeland. But it happened that he entered Mecca as conqueror. It all took a long span of 22 years. Wonder lamp of Aladin exists only in fairy tales and has nothing to do with the real word. However, it is a matter of common observation that people by-passing the hard work often obstensibly succeed in achieving their wordly gains but in fact they are patent losers. Their so called success prevails for no time and vanishes soon. Real mega-hit which marks indelible effects is the success which is attained by matchless effort and vigour. There is no ultimate goal to reach but to execute this trek of life with truthfulness and through proper channel should be the aim of our lives. Result remains with God.** |

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. The dictum wisely explains the features of skill. A skilful person would never suffer from hunger. He earns his livelihood by utilizing his skill. Meanwhile an unskilled helplessly depend on others good will. The adage emphatically emphasises that one must have to learn the skill to catch the fish to extinguish the fire of hunger. The first world countries, with huge economic incentives have been following the philosophy of dictum since the antiquity. In this context China may best the best apotheosis. The axiom’s philosophy brought revolution in all spheres of life. About sixty years ago china was suffering from severe social and economical problems. Moreover, hunger, endemic diseases had rendered disaster in all walks of life. In the meantime the Chinese govt took immediate measures to come up such severe evils. In this phase of depression, govt did not provide a bread to nation rather she made a strategy to train the nation, how to earn livelihood. Consequently, in modern world china is deemed as the largest work force country. Doubtless, china’s success in covert behind the axiom’s philosophy. While, on the contrary third world countries with less economic resources failed to make a effective strategy of providing food perpetually. In this context, Pakistan has also adopted the same strategy, granting loans and others schemes seem likely to feed once and ultimately render disaster and depression forever. Nonetheless recently announced prime minister’s scheme of granting loans to youth is likely to feed them once. It would not only cripple the economy but also render depression in the youth ultimately. In the mean time govt should have to make an effective plan which can make capable enough to earn his livelihood. Consequently, it is better to make a nation technically strong, by teaching the techniques of earning livelihood rather than that of providing meal once. No doubt, dictum beautifully reveals the covert features of skill and acquirement. |
