1. Your essay is "Poverty in Pakistan" and you are talking about global resources. 2. You want to say that resources are not limited but in your essay you didn't provide any evidence for that. You will have to prove that resources of Pakistan are enough to feed it's population. 3. There are no points mentioning flawed economic policies and poor political decision making explicitly which you had claimed to be the cause of poverty. You can either incorporate these points in the outline or change your thesis statement and make it in accordance with your outline. |

Please also tell something about Pakistan affairs paper. Did you prepare pre-partition or not since syllabus has been reduced, and only 1or 2 questions are coming from this portion? Should we study pre-partition in detail or just focus syllabus that is: ideology and Muslim renaissance efforts? |

Think of the most popular opening lines in literature; they are all hooks. They are used widely in essay writing as well and are not limited to novels or larger written pieces. Most people use these without ever realizing that they do but they usually fall into the pitfall of reverting to a few more familiar and rather overused types of these hooks. There are many types and I'd recommend everyone play around with them until they find a few which suit their writing style. Also important to note that some hooks work better with some topics and tone so it is really a case by case thing. I'll discuss a few of the types of essay hooks below with examples;
