6. Conclusion

English has gained wide currency in education system through out the world, and Pakistan is no exception. For one thing, The English language, unequivocally, is one of the dominant languages in the world. According to a report by UNESCO, estimates have suggested that around 50 percent of today’s spoken languages may be extinct in the year 2100. Education accounts for one of the fundamental factors in the disappearance of these languages. Historically, in 1960s, when some of the people in Pakistan started to get education from abroad there demand in the Pakistani market increased dramatically. This was the turning point in Pakistani education system and then English was introduced in educational institutions in Pakistan. In addition, now the question arises here what is the need for English in our education system. Categorically, English is widely accepted medium of education through out the world. So, if we are to compete with the rest of the world we should flourish English. Secondly, almost each and every new research is being published in English. Thirdly, it is widely spoken language and bridges the gap of communication. Fourth, our regional language, especially Urdu, could not take its due place in our education system. Contrarily, there are still many hurdles which need to be removed if we are to flourish English in our education system. Some of the hurdles are: Dearth of Competent teacher, Lack of teachers’ training, Expensive English medium Schools, Indifference towards English, Native languages are widely spoken, No research-oriented culture to name but a few. As a matter of fact, Government should support English as a medium of education. On the other hand, private schools should allocate adequate quota for poor in their institutions. Further, Teachers’ training and foreign help is of utmost importance in this regard.

Don't you think that there may be some disadvantages of accepting English unconditionally as a medium of communication in our all spheres of life, including education?
You people are highly requested to evaluate this attempt and pinpoint reasonable flaws.
Your attempt is outstanding as usual. I have not been able to find any conspicuous grammatical or spelling mistake. Your ideas carry weight. But I have a little bit contradiction to your stance which I mentioned above. Just keep it up. And please evaluate my attempt.

English as the Medium of Education in Pakistan

Outline.

1-Introduction.
(A). English as an international language
(B). English and education.

2-Historical background of English in our education.

3-Current use of English in education.

4-Why English is so important in Education?( put some more points)
(A) Language of science and technology.
(B) International status.
(C) Language of communication.

5-Impacts of English on education (English is need of the hour so better to own it. I think we can overlook its so-called bad impacts)
(A) Creates bilingual dilemma.
(B) Undermines the importance of national language
(C) Less conducive in imparting knowledge.( I disagree, it is our own weakness that we legged behind to master this language)
(D) Creating divide in society.( I think each and every point in this section is overlapping each other)

6-Remedies to uplift the status of Urdu in education.
(A) Bold and promising educational policies.
(B) Self-improvement.

7-Conclusion.

Introduction
THE importance of English as a tool of communication in education system is intimately linked to its international status. We need this language in our education for various reasons. Foremost among them are the facts that it is being spoken in every nook and corner of the world; and that it is a language of science and technology. If we are to understand the relationship of English with our education, it is but imperative to peep that part of our history when British were our undisputed masters. Having established their rule over whole of the subcontinent, they declared English as an official language. Then few of the great Muslim leaders realized that the Muslims could not uplift their social status unless they accepted to learn English and modern education. Since then, anyone who intends to acquire modern education should have command our(of) this language. Admittedly, we cannot dub English only as an unwanted product of past, but there are also few genuine reasons to retain it as a medium of education. This is a language of science and technology; a language of international status and the medium of communication at all levels across the world. Nevertheless, its blind use as a medium in our education has few repercussions. Analysis shows that it creates a bilingual dilemma, undermines the importance of our national language, less productive in imparting essential knowledge and creates a divide in society. If these all facts are kept in mind and few bold steps are taken, we can possibly uplift the status of Urdu in education. This is not to say that we should eradicate English altogether from our curricula. But it should be retained as a supplementary language. Hopefully, this will make us self-sufficient and plug many of pitfalls in our education system.
Shakeel what I felt in this work is that you have taken two stances. one, you are supporting the English. Second, in the last paragraph you supported Urdu. I think it is little confusing. Examiner is asking you to write on English as a medium. you just favour it or go against it and then prove. What we say, sometimes the middle way is dangerous. apart from that a nice piece of work.

Not Economy but Politics Is a Key to Success

Outline

1.Introduction
The most integral determinant of success or failure of any nation is its economic condition. However, the economy is itself dependent on a system called ‘political system’. A country can only be economically stable, if it is politically strong, for economic policies emanate under political supervision. Unfortunately, in most of the developing countries and specifically in Pakistan, steps are taken to strengthen the economy without stabilizing their political system. Such wrong priority setting leads all the efforts astray.

2.Examples from history

a. Decline of colonial powers
(Due to the racial, cultural, ethnic and all kind of discrimination against the people living in the colonies under the colonial regimes. This all was because of the inefficient political system. Spanish, French, Ancient Greek most of the other colonial powers faced decline due to political crises)

b. Coming of revolutions
(All the major revolutions that impacted the world at large came with the cause to restructure the political setup in order to bring about the paradigmatic change in a particular area)
i. American revolution
ii. French revolution
iii. Russian revolution
iv. Chinese revolution
v. Iranian revolution

3.Political, economic and social systems
(The point is that the economic, and social miseries bring about the major uprising that challenge the status quo i.e. political system that controls entire setup running the affairs of the country, exactly like what is happening in Pakistan presently)
a. Economic and social systems – drivers of political change
i. Abolition of slavery from the US
ii. End of apartheid in South Africa
iii. Uprising of civil rights movement in the US
iv. Rise of progressive intellectuals in 20th century

4.Success stories of politically and economically stable countries

a. China’s status as fastest growing economy
b. India as an Asian giant
c. South Korea as one of the world’s leading economies
d. Brazil as an emerging state
e. Turkey’s politico-economic status

5.Present political and economic status of Pakistan
(Politically divided people, creeping economic growth, social & ethnic divide, and ideological crisis in Pakistan are some of the major issues that require the political upgradation in the country)

6.Major hurdles or challenges against the political stability for majority of states

a. Lack of political will (specially in Pakistan)
b. Inefficient political leadership (specially in Pakistan)
c. Absence or silence of pressure groups
d. External involvement – US or any other powerful state (specially in Pakistan)
e. Lack of independent institutions
f. Ignorant populace due to illiteracy and dormant media
g. Ineffective policy-making and implementation
h. Crisis of identity (specially in Pakistan)

7.Measures to be adopted for a favorable political change

a. Active involvement of pressure groups
b. Awareness campaign for the masses
c. Deciding on a single identity and ideology
d. Constitutional power transition
e. Policies compatible with economic, social and political implications

8. Conclusion

Thanx dear for checking my attempt. I wanted to say that currently we are giving ample importance to the english in our education system. So much so that we have neglected urdu altogether. I am averse to this mindset. I am of the opinion that we should continue with English in the same manner, for it is an international language. But at the same time, we should also do our best to uplift urdu which is our natioal language.

A commendable attempt. Your outline contains highly informative and relevant points. However, I would like to sugget that you should try to make short points in your outline rather than making verbose and lengthy sentences. Moreover, try to be precise and straightforward. Overall a nice attempt. Just keep it up.

Need for serious planning in technical education in Pakistan

1.Introduction

2.Present Scenario

3.Eduction System in Pakistan
a-Modern Education
b-Traditional academic Education
c-Madersahs (Mulla's education to Talibans)
e-Technical Education

4-Impartance of Technical Education in developing countries

5.Why Technical Education is Necessary (especially in Pakistan)
a-lack of sufficient political system
b-Weakness of institutions
c-Poverty
e-Unemployment
f-Energy crisis
g-Improper planing in education system (example of hec & traditional schooling system)
h-Natural disasters (floods, Earthquake, and others)
h-Dying Economy

6-Need for serious planning in technical education in Pakistan
a-Honest leadership is the need of hour
b-To strengthen institutions
c-Proper short and long term technical education planning
d-3% GDP allocation for technical education
i-for poor boys & girls
ii-for poor widows
iii-Special technical education for disables according to their potentials
e-Foreign Aid & collaboration for technical education
f-Astonishing foreign policy
g-To Kick out old political system & feudalism (Article 62 & 63 implementation)
i-Establishment of Technical schools, colleges (example of SBTE Karachi)
j-Target oriented planing in technical education & its result measuring
k-Media's role to boost technical education

7-Conclusion

Pakistan is a developing country. As a matter of fact she is trying to be good at both in academic and technical education. However, due to improper and insufficient planing in education system, our economy is dying and going down day by day. Being a developing country, it is the need of our to be serious in pragmatic planing in order to strengthen technical education so that the wheel of economy can move astonishingly. It is rightly said that technical education boosts economy to the great extent. Besides, political system has to be highly honest in order to strengthen technical education in right direction. In the current circumstances our country is facing severe crises such as poverty, unemployment, energy crisis, insufficient political system and many other factors have weakened our country, these factors are directly or indirectly linked with the technical education. If technical education is strengthened, then there would be no problem and uncertainty in the said factors, because they are related to the both academic and technical education. The sooner we realize the gravity of problem the sooner we emerge out of it. Although the task is difficult but not impossible. Therefore, it is the time to work for technical education by pragmatic strategies with an outstanding planing.

It is requested to check it completely and take out my mistakes, besides, criticize optimistically. Respected shakeel and other active members are requested to point out my errors comprehensively.
Thanks...

1.Introduction
The most integral determinant of success or failure of any nation is its economic condition. However, the economy is itself dependent on a system called ‘political system’. A country can only be economically stable, if it is politically strong, for economic policies emanate under political supervision. Unfortunately, in most of the developing countries and specifically in Pakistan, steps are taken to strengthen the economy without stabilizing their political system. Such wrong priority setting leads all the efforts astray.

2.Examples from history

a. Decline of colonial powers
(Due to the racial, cultural, ethnic and all kind of discrimination against the people living in the colonies under the colonial regimes. This all was because of the inefficient political system. Spanish, French, Ancient Greek most of the other colonial powers faced decline due to political crises)

b. Coming of revolutions
(All the major revolutions that impacted the world at large came with the cause to restructure the political setup in order to bring about the paradigmatic change in a particular area)
i. American revolution
ii. French revolution
iii. Russian revolution
iv. Chinese revolution
v. Iranian revolution

3.Political, economic and social systems
(The point is that the economic, and social miseries bring about the major uprising that challenge the status quo i.e. political system that controls entire setup running the affairs of the country, exactly like what is happening in Pakistan presently)
a. Economic and social systems – drivers of political change
i. Abolition of slavery from the US
ii. End of apartheid in South Africa
iii. Uprising of civil rights movement in the US
iv. Rise of progressive intellectuals in 20th century

4.Success stories of politically and economically stable countries

a. China’s status as fastest growing economy
b. India as an Asian giant
c. South Korea as one of the world’s leading economies
d. Brazil as an emerging state
e. Turkey’s politico-economic status

5.Present political and economic status of Pakistan
(Politically divided people, creeping economic growth, social & ethnic divide, and ideological crisis in Pakistan are some of the major issues that require the political upgradation in the country)

6.Major hurdles or challenges against the political stability for majority of states

a. Lack of political will (specially in Pakistan)
b. Inefficient political leadership (specially in Pakistan)
c. Absence or silence of pressure groups
d. External involvement – US or any other powerful state (specially in Pakistan)
e. Lack of independent institutions
f. Ignorant populace due to illiteracy and dormant media
g. Ineffective policy-making and implementation
h. Crisis of identity (specially in Pakistan)

7.Measures to be adopted for a favorable political change

a. Active involvement of pressure groups
b. Awareness campaign for the masses
c. Deciding on a single identity and ideology
d. Constitutional power transition
e. Policies compatible with economic, social and political implications

8. Conclusion
Very Very good attempt. Don't you thing it is a very lengthy when we are going to attempt it? Overall really attractive and getting through attempt. You have clicked each and every point what is required in the said topic. Good Luck.
