72 include both kpk and FATA. The number of candidates from FATA is usually equal to that of KP. There is always a very tough competition in FATA, even more than punjab. I personally know 10 candidates from FATA.
@Maneka Sir: Do you have any idea about the number of vaccancies for CE-2010? Will the austerity measures, eighteenth amendment and abolishing of about sixty positions of ASPs in Punjab reduce the number of positions for CE-2010?

The last i heard in another post was 28 from FATA. I am still not sure if the alleged 28 have GB candidates in them or are they just FATA. @Convertor please bhai itna tense na karay FATA+GB k bohat kam seats hai. The competition is far more than what the KP candidates will experience.  Please someone share their wisdom.

my interview
Today was my interview.. I was 6th one to go..lasted 4 half an hour approx. (as usual I dint check the exact time). My subjects were economics, IR, US history, journalism n sociology..
I am trying to recall all the questions, I hope I succeed in that!! After usual greetings mr. bhagwandas asked about the meaning of my name.. read about my profile--my final degree..then started off… What is economic development? (economics) Tell me about your favourite book?that led to a discussion on concept of spirituality n he asked u believe in miracles?n that do u visit Daata Darbar? What is ECO? Agencies of UN? India is asking for permanent seat in security council..u think it will get it? Did u appear again?why? were u not confident about your success? CCP?(economics) U have read IR, what were SEATO and CENTO?their demise? U have written in your weakness “none so far”, how come? SOhail Safdar: HDI? (economics) Wo is Robert fisk?have u read him? What is the role of madressahs n why people send their children there? What can we do to stop that? Can u tell about any quote or speech of a US president? Gen. Owais From your favourite books I can guess u r interested in tasawuf..what are various sufi orders? What are their differences n their similarities? What was their role in govt. in mughal era, british govt. and after establishment of Pakistan? What should be the role of religion in govt.? Mccarthyism? Equity Vs Bond?(economics) Father of US constitution? Saud Gohar: Arbitrage? (economics) debt trap? (economics) What would be the end game in Afghanistan? i guess that was all.. Considerable portion of it rotated around the concept of spirituality as my favourite book was about it.. overall the panel was good, not very strict n not too frank either.. best of luk to all n plz keep me in your prayers as well...

My Friend is done with viva voce today.His optional subjects:Arabic,Geography,Journalism,C.Law
After formal greetings,Following questions were asked: 1.As you are engineer,why you want to join civil services? 2.Why PSP? 3.How to eradicate corruption in Police? 4.Questions from his psychological performa? 5.what is constitutional-ism? 6.what is opposite of constitutional law? 7.Translation of ''Hal jazaa ul ahsaan illal ahsaan'' 8.Role of media in national development? 9.discussion on HDI. 10.Discussion on poverty alleviation in Pakistan 11.Do you expect major breakthrough in indo-pak relations in near future? 12.Discussion on NAB?Why it failed to reduce corruption in Pakistan? 13.questions from his achievements. He opines that panel is really friendly and co-operative.Justice bhagwan das and gen.ovais seems to be satisfied with his answers,while Sohail safdar and Saud gohar grilled him and whatever he responded,these two gentlemen didn't agree. Regards.

Balochistan issue, nuclear radiation in japan, Behrain issue, iran nuclear issue, lucknow pact, cabinet mission plan, US withdrawl from Afghanistan, etc
