well its true that media is nw a days playing a major role in the country's situation...the major responsibility of a media is to deliver the news in its exact form... dnt try to broadcast these newses flamboyantly...the only thing which i hate most about the top tv channels is that they are presenting the news in more embellishing way which should not be done..i mean they are indicating each n everything like "now the X leader has reachd the airport now hes having a water, now hes sitting in a lounge wid his friends" i mean wat is dis???actually the thing is dat media is a source of inspiration for the people and its their prime responsibility to point out the positive aspects rather than pointing the negative ones..i think everyone of u wub b agree wid me on this dat the media now a days only pointing out the negative aspects of pakistan like people are dying frm hunger .selling their childrens...but besides these elements they shud point out the development works also which our federal and provincial govts did...but sorry to say that we dnt see these type of newses much....because of these stuffs the youth of Pakistan are losing their hopes for thinking about the betterment of their nation....

Dearest Rutba,
If we study the pros and cons od Democracy then we would be surprised by the weak points of this best poltical arrangement ever evolved. An independent media is one of the prerequisite for a democratic dispensation. The idea of a "federal media" is at best not feasible. My point was that because of Sindhi Media whole of Pakistan was aware of the day being celebrated. The Sindh govt then later politically capitalised on. It really was befitting in the sense that I,not belong a Sindhi myself, and many more non-Sindhis,along with my family celebrated the day like Eid. I felt proud of wearing a symbol of the oldest civilisation of my country. Dear, media represents what is the news of the day and if the news is not of our liking, whats the fault of media in it?

Yes, media can play an important role in national integration but some pseudo-intellectuals or "Intellectual Dwarfs as one of my friends calls them" are playing havoc in this regard. The media must get united as u have suggested, and that's a great suggestion, mind u. If viewership decreases, they simply won't be able to run such biased programs. So, boycott these programs, even better boycott the channel

moreover, the phrase u have used that the sindhi people have been killing and abducting for ransome since along time is pertinently wrong becuase u have blamed only sindh and it shows a bitterness regarding sindhi people. have people been not abducting in remote areas of punjab, balouchistan, nwfp, and in fata? people are not killing in karachi? Injustice is not done with the women of punjab by their own husbands then why it is presented on media that karo kari issue has been rampant in sindh. 1,How many leaders were killed from punjab and from other province? It is the sindh which not sacrificed its leaders but also suffered from injustice but never blamed any other provice in masses except nationalists. for instance, Z A bhutto was hanged B B bhutto was assasinated and many other leaders but sindhi are still chanting this slogan "Pakistan Khappy" while celebrating their sindhi topi day. is this not in pakistan interest?

I avoid being part of such heated debates but a News Analysis(if it can be called so) by Shaheen Sehbai in today's Jang was nothing but a tirade on an elected head of state.I feel pity on such Experts thinking of themselves as the only sane voice in the nation of 160 million. Does the said Expert know the basics of journalistic ethics? See the link and decide for yourself.
http://www.jang.com.pk/jang/dec2009-...2009/main2.htm Do read Ansar Abbasi's comments as well. These people seem hell bent upon making the institutions of state wage a war of their own.
