@ frankestein ov css

comon.... everybody respects ur point ov views alot. However, there can always b a clash ov opinions as every body tends to utilize the act 19 ov the constitution 1973!

however, i slightly disagree wid ur saying that
"You definately and i hopefully are going to the pit hole CSA , where talent goes in the dark and cold arena of bureaucracy"

i will put it as " we both will inshallah make it to the academy where talent reaches its apex in the conducive and nurturing arenas ov prestigeous civil services of dear motherland "

wut do u say about it doctor sahab !!

Default my not-so-satisfactory interview :(

salam all the respected members.my interview was on 28th jan.plz i am keen to be rated in terms of performance by all the members.
i entered the room and after exchanging greetings gen saab told me to sit down.then he said introduce urself. i gave a brief intro mentioning my name and education and my hobbies(not all of the ones tht i wrote).he said so something more..anymore hobbies...i mentioned one other..said sit back and relax(not a v gud impression apparently though i wasnt nervous at all) then he read from my psycho and said wat abt these..i said yes these too are my hobbies.then he said wat abt ur family..i mentioned some details..more questions...y u live here wen ur edu is from lhr...abt my hubby's job...he's working in karachi n u here...i made one mistake i think..i wrote in my psycho abt his job in isb..but he's joined a new one in karachi n i didnt explain this to them...do think it says tht i ve some contradiction or something to hide ???
gen:ok so these were some details we needed to know abt you.do u know abt the situation in fata?wat r the laws governing n wat shud they be replaced with?i told n said shud be replaced with anything tht restores stability for short time(sharia or jirga wateva) and as a longer term solution fata shud be given the status of province and brought under pakistani law.but u need to do it incrementally. then some talk abt dividing pakistan into more provinces.i made some blunders like saying it wud solve the problem of punjab's dominance(which he said wudnt)then i didn possess enuff info on etnic configuration of other provinces so blundered more than once like saying make pata one province, anyways he argued for quite a time on this and i said u can always negotiate the technicalities with all the stakeholders involved(in other words y u expecting them from me ) wel he suppressed his smile but still tell(god! ll he talk abt something else ).then to bokhari saab.comment on the situation in iraq.i talked abt the surge strategy of petraeus and tht its only a cosmetic measure and tht tactics like anbar awakening rnt gona solve the probs unless ethnic balance is restored n all stakeholders given their due share in decision making.then he asked abt my opinion on nab.i said think it shud be abolished and a new and transparent body set up.he asked if we overhaul it.i said fine then do it very extensively and change the name coz i think the v name of it associated with victimization now.then asked abt provincial auto. bill by mqm n i said i agree with their proposal n gave the eg of spain as a model of auton. then abt agri tax.i said i think it shud be imposed.asked u know abt the argument given by those who oppose it.me no not actually but i think the landed class is going to resent it. then wat abt energy crisis.i talked abt circular debt n tht i think govt shuld ve more control over public services n shuldnt let itself be blackmailed by IPPs to buy elect. on inflated rates n we shuld concentrate on building non-controversial dams n hydroprojects. memeber ok u can go.gen saab thank u. please seniors n everyone comment on my performance n the quality of my answers. am not very hopeful P.S. interview lasted for 30 mins.

so ma first question:
"To my knowledge you are the second person, who's credentials have impressed General sahib" can i know the first one?
I think we should wait till the result then i will definately let you know, who the second one was

Quote:
second: does this saying by the general that sumone has "impressive credentials" hold some worth.. i mean some importance or they r jus passin comments?
They are not just passing comments. If they say that one has impressive credentials or record than obviously they mean it.

Quote:
third: how was ur interview and psycho
I think my psychological went fine Alhamdulilah. But my group members insist that it was superb..lets wait and see. Interview went fine as well Alhamdulilah...i was worried at first but after discussing it with some seniors and others i am relaxed now, and i think i did fine.

Quote:
fourth: why he made me fill those blanks and kindly throw some words about the way i tackled it.
The instruction manual clearly mentioned that we have to fill all the blanks. That is why they made you fill it. Secondly the psychologist's have made this from after alot of research. Each answer gives them insight of our personality and character. This is why they made you fill them. I think you gave quite smart answers and you need not worry.

Quote:
fifth: wuts ur preference? is that ur first attempt and are u from lahore?
PSP is my first preference. It was my first attempt...and i am partly from lahore....I mean, I got all my education from lahore .

Regards

Force Of Attraction is on a distinguished road
Default Interview

I wrapped black suiting with thick strips on it with double cuffs and a single knotted light yellow tie on a frenched collar white shirt along with the cufflinks..i wore perfume along with the after shave... golden watch of went with the suiting...
me perfectly shaved n styled my hair with little bryll creme...so tht was my apperence...

ME:after knocking...May I come , Sir...
panel: yes...
ME: May peace be on both of u.
gen: sorry...
me: may peace be on u.
gen: ohh. thank u very muck...i wish u best of luck 4 ur interview.
me: thank u v much.
gen: so tell me abt ur personality ( not introduction )
me: my name is ----- . saint maryian by schooling and edwardian by college...
after graduation i went to london from where i completed my AAT and then i shifted to ACCA . as u asked abt my personality, my strenths include far sightedness, goal oriented, communication skills , moral rectitude and rigtheouness...the last two qualities r those which i highly adore....my weaknesses are...i m little fastidious and intervention...i normally intervene in the injustices perpetrated on anyone......... my father has alwayz been my ideal...n my ambition in life is to expunge all the inequalities whther political, economic or social.
gen: can you give any recent example which can prove tht u r very fair...
me: i gave an example with in my own family to support my ground...( discussion took place for couple of minutes )
gen: ( after our discussion ) achi baat hai...
gen: ok Mr.---wat r ur interests...
me: sir normally i dont get spare time as i m preoccupied with my final papers of ACCA..but in my spare time, in l like swimming, hiking and riding n as far as indoor activities r concerned .i m very fond of chess...my swimming is my main issue...
gen: where do u go 4 swimming...
me: i named the complex n said in vicinity of my house i do swimming in ---
gen: wat r the measurments of pool which u named..
me: sir its all standard measurement...50 meters lenght n 20 meters width...
gen: wat abt the water...is it clean...
me: it is so so...but u cant compare the standard of islaambd club with tht area..
gen: no no...
gen: so u r satisifed with the pool..
me: i m but the thing which bothers me is tht anybody can come a purchase a ticket for swimming..there is not any sort of skin examination...
gen: aap ne apni personality tu bata de...now lets discuss some serious issues..
me: gave sober smile...
gen: mr---- wat do u think r the problems being faced by pakistan nowadays..
me: sir we have gotten political. economic n social problebs...
gen: wat r social problems...
me: education, poverty, unemployment, drug trafficking, child abuse, health...
gen: but child abuse is more in western countries...
me: it is..but we r also facing this problem n i have priortized these issues...
gen: talk abt health...
me: lets start from the womanfolk...it is said tht out of 100,000 women 400 die in pakistan owing to iron energy deficiency n the ration is only 13 in developed countries...there r 13000 patient n 1 bed.. situation is much more severe in under devolped areas like swat, fata...
gen: give ur suggestions.
me: GDP should be increased for health sector...
gen: is health a federal subject...
me: no, it is provincial..
gen: but u said abt GDP...
me: i wanted to say tht a good portion of lumpsum which provincial government receives from federal should be allocated in this sector...you dont take GDP as a granted ( gen was hell bent to make me confuse in the issue of my using GDP for health)
gen: ok u suggest tht provincial government allocate more in health sector...magar kahan se kaat kar yeh paisa laein...
me:we should cut down our ministries...
gen: but PM said tht minister n MNA are getting same perks...
me: but sir y do we have such a big ...i would say battalion of ministers...
gen: yes i agree...i agree...
me: then we should lessen our administrative expenses..
gen: wat r they...
me: protocol..cars ..medical ..petrol should be decreased...
gen: tu ais se panch( 5 ) ya chee ( 6 ) rupee bach jaye ge...
me: sir baat 5 ya 6 rupee ki nahin hai...ais ka nuksaan ye hota hai ye excess petrol ko officers fake receipta bana kar claim karte hein...jo k gov. ka nuksaan hai...
gen: reallllllllllllllllllllly
me: kuch aese officers hein jo ais tarha karte hein...
gen:so you dont believe in tht much protocol like stuff..
me: no...if we want to revive as a nation..we have to shun all this...
gen:acha aap ne yeh tu bata diya magar number of doctors shall not improve...
me: sir..number of doctors can only be increased if if build more colleges..bcuz we cant import doctors...
gen: y not import..
me: we cant afford...
gen: but we see daily 2 or 3 doctors here for interviews...
me: sir i would like to give one suggestion to FPSC tht all the professtionals should be banned from competing css bcuz if a chartered accountant becomes DMG officer of doctor becomes police officer..they r just wasting the seat of profession...
gen: so u think tht professtional r wasting there seats...
me: thats a ground bitter reality...
gen: but mr ---- FPSC does not make policies...
me: but u can convey ur message to the government tht these r our deficiencies n we need sort them out...
gen: thx u v much for ur suggestion...
gen: but doctors r not going to swat ..fata...how they should be convinced...
me: aap kitna hi lucrative package dein..mera nahin kayal k ain dino me koi swat n fata jaye ga...sir we have to make developments in those areas for doctors to go...
gen: memeber 2... have u any queries...
member2: mr --- you have written tht u performed haj after completing ur studies in london... wat made you to make this decision in such a young age...
me: ( with experinced smile )...while in london..i saw the realities of world very closely..n i realised tht materialism is the death of spiritualty..n then i reverted from materialism to spiritualism...then i said
" HUMEIN KIYA JO TURBAT PE MELE RAHEIN GE
TAHE KHAK HUM TU AKELE RAHEIN GE "
MEM2: told the general tht the same thing dr iqbal said abt materialism keh....ehsaas e murawat ko kuchall dete hein aallaaat...
mem2:regardless of the fact tht your father is a -----court judge...wat do u think abt novmber 3 act of army chief n not of president...
me: sir first we need to make this issue clear tht whether tht act was martial law or emergency...
mem2: no no...just tell ..wat u think abt it...
me: wat has done,,should not have been done...the institution of judicicry should not be disgraced like this...CJ cannot be expelled in this manner...CJ was crossing his limits..but according to section 209 there is a supreme judicial council for expelling the judge...so i think it was a blunder on a part of government...
mem2: y now gov. is not restoring CJ...means now there is no mushraf...
me: the acts of 3 nov. have been endorsed by SC n two wrongs cant make 1 right...gov is ready to restore CJ if he takes an oath under the cons of 1973..but CJ is stubborn on saying tht i m still the constituional CJ n i m not going to take the fresh oath...
mem2: humm..u opted indo pk history...how did redcliff gave a permanent sort of advantage to india.
me: sir cyrill redcliff was the chief negotiater between india n pak for boundary commission...he divided india in such a way tht pathankot went on indian side n india got direct access to kashmir...quaid said the most unjust n perserve award which shatterd all the norms of justice n righteouness...
mem2:thts rite but wat was tht district...
me: gurdaspur...
mem2: u opted mercatile law... we see ships being pirated in somalia and so so...we used to hear about behri kazak 500 ..600 years ago...does mercantile has something in this regard...
me: there r rules regarding carriage of goods by land, sea n air...
mem2: y not to bomb those pirates..
me: sir m. law only gives u a remedy n not the solution to avoid such acts...
mem2:hunmm
gen: mr--- u wrote in ur psyco. tht u have gotten suggestions for improvments in FPSC...
me:deep smile...plz lend me ur ears..
gen: yes---- we r all ears..
me: i gave three suggestions ( n general had ample time for all my suggestions ..but he was much more smart )...
gen: ok ---- thnk u
me: i thank u very much for ur time.

i left my chair and just walked two steps k mem2 asked... wese aslamukum is same a peace be on u...
me: yes sir... but i thought k whole interview would be in english tht y i used this in english....
gen: mr----this is wrong impression tht the whole interview is in english...not all the candidates can speak as good english as u...
mem2: wese by the way wat is ur mother tongue mr ---
me: with smile..not english sir...
me: sir its urdu..

now awkward silence for 2 or 3 seconds...than i said...ajazat hai sir...ALLAH HAFIZ

Here is the detail of my interview.Comments are requested.

Me:Sir, may i come in?
Gen sb. Aaiay kashif sb., please sit down.
I sat down and relaxed.
Gen sb: we start with ur intro
ME:I introduced myself, giving my family background, about my spouse and my father.Myacademic background and co corricular.
Gen. sb asked two or three personal questins and congratulated meon my marriage.
Gen sb. What are the indicators of water crisis in pakistan?
ME:Sir, low production of wheat crop, lands becoming baren in interior sind and southern punjab.
Gen sb:Wo tou pehlay say hi aesay hain.
Me:But sir , this phenomenon is increasing.Even india is building dams on our rivers and there is decreased river flow.
Gen sb:But IWT is about the design and height of dam, india has the right to use it for irrigation.
Me:But sir, river flow should be above 50k cusecs per day but we are receiving 20k plus.
Gen sb. But the world does not believe in u, u don,t have the credibility.
Me:sir, in my opinion world believes in us ,they have acknowledged our efforts in WOT and our stance after mumbai attacks.yes, there is a little bit of credibilty crisis internally and that is due to our internal situation.
Gen. sb. Ok Ok, smilingly: What should we do to counter this scarcity of water?
Me:sir by demand management and supply management
Gen sb:What is demand management?
Me:Sir,bricklining canals.....
Gen sb:But it is supply management.
Metrying to cover up)Sir actually both of these are interalated.sir, new methods of irrigation in place of flood irrigation i.e. drip irrigation etc
Gen sb. supply management?
Me:Sir , by bricklining, building of new reservoirs as we are already building diamir bhasha and if there is consensus we must built KBD too.
Gen.sb. Bhal safai kay baray mein kaya khayal hai?
Me:yes sir, it is also a good one.
Gen sb. Laikin Bhal safai kay liay paisay allocat ho jatay hain laikin hoti nahi hai.Main nay khud dekha hai lahore wali canal ko.
Me: But sir i have observed differently, even we did it ourselves when we were at school.
Gen sb. Ok, by melting glaciers?
Me:Sir, it will increase water flow but it will endanger the ecological balance and natural process. It is one of the implications of global warming.
Gen sb. Phir tou global warming achi na hui? Pani ziada ho jay ga.
Me: But sir sea levels would rise, fertile lands would be converted into baren lands.

Gen sb:Global warming is not dangerous, what wil happen if some bears will die.
ME:Sir, it will disturb the whole ecosystems, hydrocycle will be disturbed and human life too. There will be more evaporation and loss of water.
Gen sb:So, more clouds will be formed and the water will come back by hydrocycle. And, clouds will stop sunlight from coming to earth surface and it will not heat up.
ME:But sir, sunlight is really essential for living beings. And if there are frequent clouds and a particular crop does not need water , it will be affected by that rain.Global warming is actually dangerous for many ecosystems too.It is a danger sir.
Gen sb:Ok(smilingly).....Thanks
Rizvi sb:Any benefits from devolution plan?Should it be retained?
ME:Sir, the motives behind this system were realyy good...Representation of the people in the affairs of govt.at local level. It is a good system but needs improvements.
Rizvi Sb:But previous local bodies were also meant for that.
ME: But sir, democratic govts used to appoint administrators during their tenures. It is for the first time that financial and administrative powers have been devolved at the distt.level.
Rizvi sb:Are there feudals in your area or middle calss people who have been elected?
ME:Sir, middle class people have been there;even a donkey cart owner ia elected on a labourer seat.
Rizvi Sb:Ok......What are two main problmes of pakistan?
ME:Sir, militancy and extremism
Rizvi sb: Is this one or two problems?
ME:Sir , actually these are interrelated and complex and degenrate into terrorism ,these may be said one .
Rizvi sb:Ok..and other one?
Me :Sir, feudalism
Rizvi sb: Ok, you start from feudalism and give solution for each of them.
ME:Sir, for feudalism, simply educate the people in rural areas so that they have awareness and don,t let the feudals to go to the assemblies beacuse they make policies for themselves. It is a long term solution and for short term, simply, do as india did ...set the uppermost ceiling and take all the other land from them.
Rizvi sb:Ok...Keeping in view the ground relities, suggest the solution of kashmir issue and what about pakistan kashmir policy.
ME:Sir, pakistan's policy has not been continuous. We stressed on UN resolution and then showed our cards through president pervez musharaf before coming to the table. We must start from our utmost stance and come to the negotiating table and then through give and take , should have a solution which accomodates the wished of three stake holders.
At this Rizvi sb looked towards Gen sb and said thank you... and Gen sb too said thank you.I left the seat and said thank you , and left the room.It was almost 25 minutes.

Now comments plz.

@Amna, you did really well.M impressed.Frankenstein too recovered very well and did well.Best of luck for all of you.

You a KE graduate and then An ACCA chartered accountant have the crdenetial to impress anyone in the world. They would be swept from their feat.
The panel would be impressed by you and your credentials.

And congratualtion on your performance .very nice interview
However do you , trulely believe in banning doctors from CSS you will depriving the css from a significant strata of inteligensia
Believe me doctors have certain qualities of assesment and they view the world quite differntly compared to other graduates. This is solely due to our nature of the job and the cirricula we read.
