I think that was an unprofessional response and they are not trained to give blunt reply which is in fact very rude of the Colonel (colonial). He showed pathetic side of Pakistani Bureaucracy. That is true that they are busy and overwhelmed with commitments and that is why they are paid for. They are public servants and should be courteous. In all situations one should maintain a professional demeanor. |

such queries are to answered by a person of admin and HR and not by a colonel level HR officer. So its not his fault, its your fault that u r asking such pathetic questions from him... Hiring is under process and no needs to b impatient. Unki ghalti ye hai k unho ne Psychological test k liye bht se logon ko shortlist kr liya. Thats the reason of immaturity of candidates.

@ash90 says that someone extended his call to that colonial minded colonel, so seemingly no fault of ash. Good organizations designate someone to answer calls for recruitment related questions. So he did no wrong to call NAB to know the tentative date for the interviews. Secondly, I do not see this was stupid question, nor did Mr Colonial Colonel have a reason to be miffed at this simple query. Now what angered the colonel to put down the phone must be something else that ash90 does not tell. I know ash is a knucklehead, he must have said something stupid to make him disconnect the call. |

@above,
whoever mentioned public servants is right. i know it's not part of training to be rude, on the contrary "accommodating". army has no role in public dealing, they are trained to delegate and take orders, a strict hierarchy i must say. so the message he conveyed to ash could have been done politely as well. in my opinion, a ranker would have been the most accommodating, then a CSP, if any and then an army personal. i guess it adds another aspect to the organisation. a mixture of different cultures i guess, which itself has both pros and cons. i disagree with the person who thinks this is something that comes inherently with bureaucracy.

Dear all, today I received a call from NAB head quarters for submission of missing document (i.e. Domicile). I told the guy that I have sent my domicile 2 weeks ago and asked if they had not received it. Then the person at NAB replied that if you have sent the domicile then we would have received it and you should not worry about sending it again. Further I asked that if you have received my domicile then why have you called me today to send the domicile again? On this the person from NAB replied that we have not updated your documents as the received documents from candidates have been kept separately from the ones submitted on the day of Psychological test and I would find your sent domicile today and tag your documents as complete. I further inquired about the short listing for interviews and how much more time would be taken? On this the person from NAB replied that I cannot give you a time frame as it can take up to two weeks to issue the interview call letters for BPS-17 (Assistant Director).
One more thing I wanted to add that personally I feel that the candidates who have not received a call from NAB need not worry as they are still checking the documents and the candidates will get a call from NAB head quarters (i.e. if they have any missing documents). |

[QUOTE=mirusama;481193]@above,
Your analysis is good.But regarding the comments " I disagree with the person who thinks this is something that comes inherently with bureaucracy." you have answer in your own comment "in my opinion, a ranker would have been the most accommodating, then a CSP, if any and then an army personal." Our civil and military bureaucratic system is remnant of colonialism and they take pride in it and they try to behave like them aswel. I do not know what was the real issue with ash but what a common man can observe is that our civil and military bureaucracy has very rude attitude towards masses.Even they are taught to be polite and accommodating.But i dont know how they surpass the hurdle of psychological tests.shows that there is some real flaw in psychological evaluation system.One example is recruitment of a police officer who killed a man with his official weapon in sahiwal.Now the departmental actions and criminal proceedings are going on.Why some one is not paying attention towards the chairman FPSC,members of the interview board and also the members of psychological board who gave a criminal minded person a post of such power.how did they let a psychopath be recruited in civil services.I say cases should also be registered against the then FPSC chairman and members and psychological board members. I believe there are not only serious flaws in our civil and military recruitment system but also majority of the candidates,the moment they are selected believe they have become the colonial masters even if he/she was a normal human being before. Citing the example of caliph Umar RA when he conquered Jerusalem he was holding the bridle of his horse and his slave was sitting on the horse. very unfortunate we do not take our Muslim leaders as our role models. Even those colonialists never had this master and slave culture in their countries. |

@ skymarshal : Again you are crossing your limits. @ Admin: Kindly check this. @ All: Only Allah [J/S] Knows the best. What I had described in my previous post about a query regarding the time frame for the grade 18 Interview is true word by word. Who is stupid, knucklehead, or dirty can be observed from the following posts: 1067 1068. For those who disagree "inherent bureaucracy." Let me remind them. I read in my primary text book that "Quaid-e-Azam Mohmmad Ali Jinnah was born in Jhirk, a small village at that time." Now no one agrees it. A Big U Turn from the facts written in the official text books taught to poor souls like me during our age at the time." Today this fact has been changed. Whom to blame? the bureaucratic thugs or innocent people ? |
