Its beyond understanding.
any way every one has its own opinion.
I not only topped written, but descriptive test as well, i appeared in interview for sake of experience. At the end of interview, the chairman of the panel asked me that, "You are a tehsildar right?" i replied affirmatively. He said "Don't you know Tehsildar is a very charming post, in your career you can rise to DC or even Commissioner of the province, why would you like to join a post like AD IB?" I replied, "I haven't made my mind yet to join IB" He said,"SO you are here to waste our time?" I replied, "No Sir, It's my right to appear in interview after getting through three though stages, whether to join or not, should be a candidate prerogative ". I smiled back, He said "Ok son, but you better clear about you ambitions" and said "Thankyou"

Even the Chairman of panel was sure that i would never leave my present job to join IB, this is a fact. Perhaps thats why i was marked low in interview so that other deserving jobless candidates could get the slot (which he did it perfectly right, i appreciate it)

I am not discouraging anyone, like i said that those candidates who are already employed in Govt service in BPS-17 or above should not leave their easy life to join AD IB. for those who are jobless or working in BPS-16, must join it because it way more better job than being a jobless or working on a clerical post.

The candidate in AD IB who topped form fata was already allocated to PSP in css, so don't bash me now that i should not have appeared in interview. Chnage and experience is a part of human nature, that even a selected ASP wants to taste the interview experience.

What a detailed and apt description. You are right that one should not limit oneself to one thing and always aspire for different experiences it may help in some other future endeavour, may be in your case CSS interview.

Add whatever you want to add but @mysteriousleoo said that his friend an AD in IB get 53K and must be employed for some time now. So for fresh candidates there is possibility that it will just touching 50K.

This is hilarious. Who told you your marks?

There is no comparison between a Tehsildar (a job anybody can do) and an AD IB. The difference in quality and difficulty of tests and strong competition for the job is proof itself. The only ones who should not join it are those who've been allocated in a CSS group.

For the rest, a Federal department is always better than Provincial (more scope of work, more power, more importance, more mobility) and especially at this time of CPEC, the importance of security and intelligence is unmatched.

Arguements of bs.16 employee of provincial government after failing to qualify bs.17 federal job, do not carry much weight..
Initial pay of a.d FGO would be around 50 k..offical pick and drop facility is available to all officers..official car and house is also thinkable but in exceptional cases..foreign trainings are also offered to officers..
For a civilian its better than A.D M.O.D ,A.D NAB and all other bs 17 jobs except F.I.A..

She was interviewd on 24 th april whereas the result of c.e 2015 was announced on 26 april..

AD FPSC is my friend and he told me. Dear you know nothing about recruitment process of a Tehsildar, 19000 candidates appeared for the screening test of Tehsildar exam, only 1000 of them managed to pass the screening test, then it was followed by five compulsory papers, which were more though than recent history of pms and css, hope you visit kppsc website its available there. Only 125 managed to qualify the written exam and were called for interview, out of those only eighteen were allocated (as total 18 seats), and I was the topper(both written and interview). you can fetch the details from kppsc website. now honestly tell me which was more onus task, AD IB or Tehsildar?
The members of this forum can verify that i rarely failed any test including competitive exam of pms. I was allocated seven times, and this is my eigth job, Alhamdullah.

Let me tell you about Tehsildar. Tehsildar is an executive post of a province which heads a whole tehsil, just like PAS in federal level while AD IB is just a reporting job. Tehsildar is promoted to AC in two years, and it takes 5-6 years to be promoted to DC or deputy secretary while it takes 15 years for AD IB to be a Director, which is his last scale. Tehsildar can go on deputation to any federal or provincial department of Pakistan while AD IB can't go on deputation. The last pay scale to which Tehsildar can be promoted is BPS-20, while BPS-21 and BPS-22 slots are for PAS.
In FATA Tehsildar has both police, judicial and legislative (jirga) powes, he is incharge of 400-500 strong tribal armed force and levies. He is DDO in his tehsil, whether in FATA or kpk, while only Director IB has DDO powers. He has three official cars under his jurisdiction while AD IB have no car.
Tehsildar is the backbone of Administration while IB has nothing to do with administation, they just send reports to PM which are NOT COMPELLING.

FInally, i wont say anthing action speaks louder than words. Administrative posts are revered, people have lot of attachment and respect for them, every knows by name, SHO,AC,DC ,Tehsildar of his area, while no one wants to know AD IB of their respective areas, neither they care. This is what, Tehsildar is about.

Regards.

Concluding analysis

I wonder why we see things in terms of powers and privileges only?

Let me summarize the entire discussion in few sentences..

plus points

1. Its a BS 17 job with handsome salary
2. promotions are rapid as compared to other departments
3. Lot of respect from society (this is what actually everyone aspire for)

Negatives

1. Hectic job
2. distant drums sound well proverb should aptly be applied here.. Mean to say it is not that thing for which most of the energetic and devoted candidates dreaming of i.e., CIA, etc.. Is a desk cum job. No major adventures. Only report writing and gathering of information.
3. No protocol and privileges. No vehicle or guards etc. Its risky as well.

In the end, i must say recommended candidates should join it and if they get some better opp such as css, pms etc than should switch other.. otherwise, IB is a very prestigious organization if one is not running after perks and privileges,,, that's it.

i know bindas personally. he is very competent guy. And this is also true that he was not going to join it even if selected. He was also selected as AD MOD but he did not join and preferred tehsildar.

Why this forum is promoting the post of Tehsildar so much?? If Bindas preferred to be Tehsildar it doesn't mean everybody shud follow his footsteps, He can be a very competent guy I agree, but sorry to say he is preaching pessimism... truly speaking I never applied for the post of Tehsildar coz it never appealled me,, Tehsildar sounds a sort of rustic chauhdhry type job to me, but if it doesn't appeal me it doesn't mean that it's a fazool tareen job of the world, plz don't be that much assertive.. this specific part of the forum is for the people who wants to be the part of intelligence services, if u dislikes it soooooo much then sorry quit this discussion..
& Last but not least " If you win, u need not to explain, but if you lose, you must not be there to explain.." apologies in advance.. & love you all.
