I have known that NAB is making every effort to settle matters with its current employees to withdraw writ petition. Soon, probably before the new bill is tabled, it will declare the result. Let us see.

It appears to be a good news for job seekers as chairman NAB was not in control of government and judiciary i.e. the cases like Arsalan Iftikhar case and so many government cases. Replacement of Chairman NAB was the main reason for formulation of NAC. Now no chairman NAB.....No NAC.....Chill program.

NAB Chairman Fasih Bokhari likely to be removed
NEWS on Nov 23rd, 2012

Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral (rtd) Fasih Bokhari is likely to be removed from his post and Saeed Ahmed will replace the incumbent NAB chief, sources said on Thursday.

In a press conference on November 17, Chairman (NAB) Fasih Bokhari vowed not to step down from his post saying that he would eliminate the curse of corruption from the country.

According to sources in the bureau, the chairman was under tremendous pressure after initiating investigations against top politicians, generals and other influential persons but at his press conference Fasih rejected the view and said that there was no pressure on NAB from the Presidency or the General Headquarters (GHQ).

It is to be mentioned here that according to article 6 b (i) of the NAB ordinance 1999, the president can appoint the Bureau chairman after consulting the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly for a non-extendable period of four years on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the President and shall not be removed except on the grounds of removal of Judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

I tend to disagree with you on this point. Chairman was a hurdle in the path on new accountability bill and now the path will be clear for the government to establish NAC.

But I don't know whether the policies of Mr. Fasih Bokhari (including recruitment) will continue or not. Now we need updates from a reliable source either in NAB or some high government office about the future of this organization and the candidates.

I have read a post of a member on some previous page that offers letters will be issued after passing of NAC. And according to that member his source is a high ranked government official. Reference: post # 1938

Default Looks like mr. Nazir siyal is very much ill informed...

Sindh, Fata and Balochistan ignored in NAB appointments
Posted on November 23, 2012

By Nazir Siyal
LARKANA: National Accountability Bureau has short listed above 400 candidates for interviews for selection against appointments of Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and Junior Investigation Officers, belonging to either Punjab, or Khyber-Pakhtoonkhuwa . Only one is from Sindh and none from Balochistan or Fata.
Reliable sources told this scribe that the majority of candidates for the above mentioned post are from Punjab who succeeded and short listed for the test and interview to be held in November 2012. NAB had also disclosed the list on its website publicly for short listed candidates on the occasion.
The National Accountability Bureau is the Pakistan's apex anti-corruption organization. It has the responsibility of elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement, which operates under the National Accountability Ordinance-1999.

1-Chairman NAB does not have any powers to affect the decisions of parliament/laws formulated by the parliament or create any hurdles. Govt: was trying to remove Bukhari sahab from this post and yet it is difficult to do so till the judiciary makes some move. Paper work on NAC was started before the appointment of present Chairman and accelerated due to follow-up of cases pertaining to Military, Judiciary, Govt: officers and politicians.

2-Policies will be continued till the existence of NAB and its ordinance including recruitment. Political influence on decisions of NAB or follow-up of cases pertaining to prominent figures, is something else. Govt: officers will not be in position to comment on future of NAB as it is the game of politicians with some role of military.

3-Process for NAC will certainly slow down if Govt: succeeds in removal of this chairman. i.e. Next Govt: will perform this action with sufficient delay.

4-That delay will provide the cushion for interviewees to secure the jobs.

If you are right about issuance of offer letters after formulation of NAC than we should forget these tests, interviews and so the jobs.
