A panel of 4 proffesor took onterview at sabanci and at KOC it was a single professor.
They were asking from what u have done in your thesis in detail questions.
Secondly about
random processes and signals as I wrote signals as my area of interest.

I dont know about their criteria because I already submited ielts score, yet called for an interview and it was totally technical and was initiated by KOC itself

You can contact any professor by urself by looking at their profiles
If he is willing to supervise you he will recomend your name to admission cell.
At sabanci I did the same and was contacted.

how did you apply online, i have been contacted by skku Analog circuits and nano technology lab professors and they have asked for cv but none has directed to apply online did someone direct you to apply? and moreover the nano tec lab has told that the admissions are for March 2014 summer semester.

somebody from hec told me. this information can be wrong but i am told that it is authentic there is very strong possibility of lists being finalized in first week of july.

and there is good news for a lot of people cant go into details

Agreement between the Higher Education Commission, and the Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Parties”)

1) The scheme
HEC and Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) agree to collaborate on a scholarship scheme for postgraduate research students at SKKU.

2) Objective
To enable outstanding students from Pakistan to pursue the degree of PhD at SKKU.

3) Number of scholarships
Up to mutually agreed number of scholarships will be awarded each year. This number may be increased by mutual agreement.

4) Fields of study
Scholarships are tenable in all fields of study in all areas of knowledge which are being offered in English. A list of priority subjects may be agreed and publicized by both parties each year.

5) Conditions of eligibility
Applicants must:
Meet the standard entry requirements for admission to the SKKU.
Make an application through normal SKKU application procedures. The deadline for the first round of applications shall be end of May for fall semester 2013 and end of November for spring semester 2014.
Be citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

B) Applicants for the degree of PhD should ideally hold the equivalent of a Master degree from a world recognized university.

6) Scholarship and Tuition/Fee
For direct PhD Program, initially the study period will be for 36 months and if required another 12 months extension will be given with mutual understanding.
For joint PhD program (MA/MS + PhD), initially the study period will be 60 months and if required another 12 months extension will be given with mutual agreement.
SKKU will charge US$3,200 tuition fee per semester, which will be paid by HEC to SKKU
HEC will pay US $900 monthly stipend.
HEC will provide one round trip air fare. Reimbursement of the air fare will be paid direct to the scholar.

7) Application and selection procedures
HEC will make an annual call for applications, with a published application deadline.

Shortlisted candidates will apply to the SKKU through normal application procedures. Only applicants applying in accordance with the terms of the advertisement will be considered.

Final decisions on admission eligibility will be the sole responsibility of SKKU.

Final selection of scholars will be made by SKKU with mutual understanding by SKKU and HEC.

Once selected scholars will sign a contract with HEC stipulating they will return to Pakistan on completion of their studies, and to work in Pakistan for an agreed period.
8) Progress Reports
SKKU agree to monitor the HEC scholar’s study progress, and to submit individual progress reports to the HEC on annual basis from the start of the MS leading to PhD and PhD programs. A sample report is included is attached as Appendix 1. Should any student’s study progress and achievements fall below average, with the mutual consent of both Parties, the scholar will be either:
a) Withdrawn from the programme.
b) Allowed an extension of no more than twelve months for completion of the PhD programme based on recommendation by the academic Supervisor and with the agreement of the HEC.
9) Intellectual Property
Both Parties agree that prior written approval is required before using the other Party’s name, logo, or other Intellectual Property rights in any advertising or associated publicity.
10) Amendment
This agreement may only be amended or modified by a written agreement signed by the representatives of each Party.
11) Duration
This agreement is valid for a period of five (5) years from the date of signing by the authorised signatories of each Party. Each party shall review the status of the agreement annually and at least three months before the end of the five year period to determine whether it wishes the agreement to continue and, if so, any modifications that might be necessary. The period of validity of this agreement may only be extended by the mutual written consent of both parties.
12) Jurisdiction
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Korean law and the law of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, save that issues relating to the validity or enforcement of any Intellectual Property Rights shall be governed by the law of the country of registration (if any) of those rights.
